Question about Canon PowerShot Pro1 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Buttons don't work

I noticed yesterday that the buttons on my powershot Pro1 do not work. I can press them but nothing happens. I cannot get into my menu or trash etc. I'm still able to take pictures though.

Thanks for answering. None of the buttons work and it doesn't matter which setting I'm on. I press any/all buttons and nothing happens.

Hi
Have you turned the mode lever to the point at the setting that looks like a little camera, some thing like [O].

Try This:
1. Turn the Mode lever to [O]
2. Press the function button. (Found to the left of the eyepiece/viewfinder)
3. Use the up and down buttons to get to the setting you want to change (found on the dial to the next to the LCD screen).
4. When you get to the setting you want to change use the right arrow to enter and make the change use the left to go back to the main menu.

Hope that helps.

    Sorry that did not work.
I would suggest you take the camera in to an authorised dealer.

Powershot pro1 viewfinder show blank white

Hi
When the LCD screen is open the viewfinder will switch of and when it is closed the viewfinder will switch on. You can switch between the two by pressing Monitor select button to the left of the Eyepiece (Viewfinder). as you look at the back of the camera.

Hope this helps.

None of the buttons work

The control panel circuit board may need to be changed, or there is a bad ribbon cable between it and the main processor board. It is also possible that the processor is at fault.

You should give the camera to Canon to have an estimate. You cannot fix this yourself. It involves changing parts and re-calibraiton.

Did you ever get the camera wet? Water damge can cuase this type of problem in a camera.

None of the buttons work

You could see if any buttons are jammed and take the batteries out by moving them. See if one of them is jammed.

If that doesn't work, I would take into a shop and have them inspect it.

Help??

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't power on. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

If the above didn't work, then consider the following:
