How do I unlock my Dell Inspirion forgot password.

you have to disassemble the case so that you can access the top of the motherboard. there is a battery attached to the motherboard. Make sure that the laptop main battery is removed and it is not connected to the power outlet, there must be no electricity running through it. Then disconnect the motherboard battery and leave it of for about 10 minutes. then you can reassemble the machine and you should have access to all areas.
I think that you can get the confirmation of this on the Dell forums, they are very informative.

N150 screen

Hi,
You have to replace the screen and to do that the best way is to either download the service manual from your manufacturer`s website or follow some online tutorials on YouTube guiding you the step by step disassembling and reassembling but if it still doesn't make any sense for you then you go to some hardware shop and they can replace it for you.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. Need to figure out how to re-assemble my balance 557s laptop

Now there's a Toughie!

Disassembled your Balance 557 laptop? Too late now, but I would have suggested using a digital camera, and good lighting, as you disassembled. Make a photo record as it came apart. Also make notes as you go along, and drawings. I use a clean egg carton, and label each egg holder, with where the individual screws came out of.
Then put those screws in the appropriate egg holder. (Doesn't sound very 'techie', huh? I disassemble a LOT of laptops. When I'm done I just throw the egg carton away)

To my knowledge, there are no Maintenance and Service Manuals available, for the Balance laptops. At least not online, and not to a unauthorized person. I believe it has to be sent back to the factory.

ALL is not lost, However! There are basic generic steps for taking all laptops apart. After you have disassembled, and reassembled a few, this becomes apparent.

Take all the screws, and sort them according to size, and threads on them. Separate them, and use that clean egg carton that I mentioned.
Make SURE you are wearing an ESD wrist strap, and that it is attached to a good ground source. Even if you didn't do this when disassembling, there is still the chance that the laptop is okay. An ESD wrist strap is cheap! (Believe Radio Shack has them for about $6)
ESD = ElectroStatic Discharge. Your body carries static electricity.
Static electricity will silently fry out your delicate computer hardware components. You may not see it, or feel it. You'll just go to turn the computer on, and Nada!

Lay all the hardware components out around you on the table.
Try to lay them out in a pattern, as to how they go inside the laptop.

With the processor, and cooling tube/heatsink combo attached to the motherboard, set the motherboard down in the laptop case bottom. Look to see what wires, may still be in a position that they were, when you disassembled. A lot of times it becomes apparent where that wire goes. Match up the connectors. It would be very rare, that one connector would fit another connector, and be the wrong one. They usually have a certain shape and size, plus a certain amount of holes/pins.

Check out all the motherboard mounting holes. Find the screws that go in them. Don't install the motherboard just yet. You are still checking things out.
Perhaps some of this will jog a recollection, of where everything came out of.

Usually the motherboard sits down in the laptop bottom. The leads for the wireless antenna connection, come up through the front.
There will be one or two cables coming from the motherboard on top, that go to the keyboard. There will be one or two cables, coming up from the front of the motherboard, that go to the LCD screen.

The best I can do now, is to give you a link to a website, that has websites listed on it, for laptop information. These websites have info about disassembling, and reassembling laptops. They have photos and instructions. They also have troubleshooting tips, and how to change out an LCD screen. They list Maintenance and Service Guides (Manuals) for many laptops. Some are free, some are not. I would just suggest that you look at the websites that have the free ones. Lot's of info.

They Do Not list the Balance laptop. But with all of the info for the other laptops they list, I feel it may help you. You just have to dig.
http://www.notebookrepairguide.com/laptop-notebook-repair-service-manuals/

Should this link not come up as a link you just click on, copy and paste it into your address bar, and press the Enter key.

If you get time, I would appreciate it if you would rate my solution.
