Hi there,
My father in law just got Nikon D40 as gift. He finds the view finder is hard to check the object before shooting it. He prefers the object displaying in the LCD instead so that I can have a clear view of the object that he wants to take.
Please help me how to set this up!
Thanks for your help!

Can't be done. Digital SLR cameras only view through the eyepiece, unless they have a "live view" function, which the D40 does not. The LCD is therefore for viewing an image after it is shot, and setting your menu options.
