However, when I check the remaining km status on the board computer only the (------ km; -------days) is lit. Can I possibly set the remaining km's to the next inspection myself or should this be done automaticcaly? I drive A4, 2006 (B7 Avant, 1.9 TDI, 140000 km). Thanks

TO RESET, MOST VEHICLES TURN ON THE IGNITION SWITCH, [DO NOT START THE ENGINE ] PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR 3 TIMES, THE LIGHT SHOULD GO OUT. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, YOU CAN DISCONNECT THE NEG. BATTERY CABLE FOR A MINUTE THEN RECONNECT, START THE ENGINE, THE LIGHT SHOULD BE OUT

What is Service code B12

That is an oil and filter change, air filter change and tire rotation(???). You can do these yourself or at a non Honda garage and then reset the code by disconnecting the battery.
I will attach a UK forum link. It is a good one.

The "MAINTANENCE" light on the dash is nothing more than a timer of sorts, every 5000 miles to be precise. Whenever you bring your Toyota in for a service, one of the last things they do is reset the MAINT light. There's a sequence to doing this yourself:

With the car key on ACC, set your odometer on mileage(not trip a or b) then turn ket off. then hold they button that switchs from odo and trip, then turn the key back to acc. while you are holding it down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. and then you are done.

Oil service:
Replace oil + filter

Inspection 1 service
Oil and oil filter
A/C microfilter

Inspection 2
Air filter
Oil and oil filter
Spark plugs
ATF(transmission fluid)
Diff oil
Fuel filter
A/C micro filter

All of the above are to be done with inspection on the braking system, suspension linkages, wheel bearings, lights etc.
Coolant is to be replaced every 3 years, clutch and brake fluid every 2 years.

Just had oil change done on my 2000 alero now my service engine soon light is on.I want to know what this means

It simply means that the service indicator was not reset when the oil was changed. If the oil was changed professionally, then resetting the service indicator is usually part of the job.

It's not just a reminder to change the oil, it's also there to remind you to check/adjust/lubricate/replace other items such as the air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, dampers (UK=shock absorbers) etc.

The service indicator is simply a dumb counter keyed to mileage and time elapsed and cannot sense when you have completed a service. Resetting the indicator requires a special tool so you'll need to take your car to a suitably equipped garage.

Had oil changed at first service as light was flashing didn't take to suzuki dealership ,garage couldn't reset .how do you reset and stop the light flashing . my car is 08 suzuki swift

Okay in your owners manual look up oil service light and it will give you a few steps on how to reset it this has to be done every time you change the oil and most mechanics should know how to do it except wal mart their not certified mechanics. But you can take it to any mechanic or say like a Jiffy Lube or who ever doe's oil changes like these guys and have then help you reset the light but it should tell you in the owners manual.

Maintenance required light on for 2005 toyota corrola (no manual

I had the same thing happen. The person that serviced your car forgot to reset the warning light. Put the key in the ignition, press down on the odometer reset button and hold it, then turn the ingnition on. This should reset it, so it will go off again in 5000 miles. This is what I did.
