My Nokia N72 phone does not show the signal of the service provider. when i switch off and then switch on, it shows the signal, but immediately after that, the signal disappers and it does not come back. hence, neither i am able to call anyone and vice versa. Please help.
You should start by checking your system selection settings. on your phone, you should go to your settings and tools menu, phone settings, then choose system select (or select system) and ensure the setting is on "automatic". if you have an option between "a" and "b", choose option a. if you have already checked that, let me know and we will try something else

You need to call your carrier to check your connection. You can also reset your phone by taking the battery out and wait about a minute and see if that refreshes your setting. You will need to see if the service provider has blocked your calls with a reason and so call up the tool free to confirm .
If the SIM is tested also on another set it can be confirmed.
if so the software of the phone must be reinstalled.
just connect the data cable to the pc and phone , go to pc suite start connect to internet , go to settings , choose your phone as modem ( also set as default if only phone is sync ) change the service provider to a list of providers given and press connect and you will be connected provided you also have data services activated by your provider.
