Thank You ! For your time and effort.

We had already discovered that we probably had a LEMON. but I can't take it back! We didn't need it when we bought it but got it for a "back up" Left it in the box for 2 years. SO the Warenty had expired. Have already been told the Company will not do anything even tho it is still BRAND NEW out of the box and NEVER BEEN USED. Learnd a lesson!! ALways check out new electronics even if you do not plan to use it right now!!

I've just replaced the black ink cartridge for my Epson Stylus TX100, ink level is ok as the indicator shows. But i get blank prints for black, other colors are fine. What's wrong with the black ink...

There is nothing wrong with the black ink. Just run the head cleaning for better printing.

1. Go to printer and faxes
2. Right click your printer ( Epson Stylus Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner InkJet)
3. Click printing preferences
4. Click Maintenance Tab
5. Click Head Cleaning
6. Run head cleaning for 5 times then try printing.

How to open printer to change cartridge?

In order to replace the cartriage, please follow the steps below:
1 Keep the printer on.
2 Lift the printer (scanner unit) until the scanner support keeps it open.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is
busy.
3 Squeeze the tabs on the cartridge lids, and then lift the lids.
4 Remove the old cartridges.
5 If you are installing new cartridges, remove the stickers and tape from the bottom of
the cartridges.
6 Insert the new cartridges. Make sure the color ink cartridge is secure in the left carrier
and the black cartridge is secure in the right carrier, and then snap the lids closed.
7 Lift the printer (scanner unit) and push the scanner support back while lowering the
printer (scanner unit) until it is closed.

Installed a black ink cartridge and the printer shows the message 'black cartridge missing' and also says 'cartridge error: error 50c'

Hi there Error 50c

Can only gave it a try.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

I have a HP 7580 printer/fax/scanner which will not print in black even though i have installed a new black ink cartridge

I had this same problem, replaced all ink cartridges and problem still remained. The fix for this is actually to replace the print heads not the cartridges. There is a black/yellow and Magenta/Cyan print head in the printer itself under the scanner on the right hand side. Rpelace as needed.

I don't know how to change the ink bought this printer from a guy at work no manual

Lift the scanner cover from the right-hand side of the MFC until
it locks securely into the open position.

If one or more ink cartridges are empty, for example Black, the
LCD shows Ink Empty Black and Cover is Open.

Pull the ink cartridge hook toward you and remove the ink
cartridge for the color shown on the LCD.

Open the new ink cartridge bag for the color shown on the LCD,
and then take out the ink cartridge.

Remove the cartridge covers.

Each color has its own correct position. Keep the ink cartridge
in an upright position when you insert it into slot. Press down on
the ink cartridge until the hook snaps over it.

Lift the scanner cover to release the lock. Gently push the
scanner cover support down and close the scanner cover.

If you replaced an ink cartridge while Near Empty was
displayed on the LCD, the LCD may ask you to verify that it was
a brand new one. Example: Did You Change Blck? 1.Yes
2.No. For each new cartridge you installed, press 1 on the dial
pad to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the
ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, please be
sure to select 2.

If you wait until Ink Empty message is displayed on the LCD,
the MFC will automatically reset the ink dot counter.

If the Install message is on the display after you have
installed ink cartridges, check that the ink cartridges are
installed properly.

Hope that helps you!

Black ink cartridge doesn't work.

Have you tried
  1. Taking out all the cartridges
  2. Power down the power
  3. Power up the printer
  4. Open the scanner Cover
  5. Close the scanner cover
  6. Message will ask you to put the ink.
  7. Put in Black
  8. Close scanner cover
  9. It may ask you whether the Black is being changed.
  10. Open the cover.
  11. Install Cyan.
  12. Repeat step 8-10 for the rest of the 2 colours.
  13. It should resolve the Black ink empty message.
Let us know if this works.

Thank you.
