R-V1105 Yamaha reciever

My reciever turns itself off after a couple of minutes. Its not hot so thats not it

my R-V1105 turns itself off. I took what looked like the "protector switch" off the "heat fins" to see if it would stop turning itself off (knowing there might be risks) but that did not solve the problem. Even when the room is very cold, it turns itself off, and sometimes very shortly after I turn the unit on.

I'd like to just "unplug" the heat switch. Would this work?

I've been working on an R-V1105 for a couple days now. The microcontroller in it is quite sensitive to circuit failures.

In my case, I have a ton of bad solder joints on the board containing the voltage regulators and power amp for the surround channels. This is but one of many potential causes of shutdown, but I'll bet, based on my experience with Yamaha, that the problem is a soldering issue.

Bosch Axxis WTE86300US turns itself off after ten minutes, won't turn back on for a few minutes after that

I would bet you have a bad sensor. There are a couple of sensors that monitor heat. When it gets too hot they shut it down as a safety precaution. Once it is cool enough it will start up again.

Hard to start when hot

Turn off fuel petcock before you shut down bike. Let idle for a couple minutes. When you restart leave fuel petcock off until it fires. This works for me when its really hot outside. 2007 VSTAR 1100 classic.

Turns it self off intermittantly and it is not overheating

Check for a speaker short or wire touching, beyond that, it would have to go on a bench for testing. Probably a cold solder joint if not a speaker or wire. Hope this helps

Yamaha rx-v461 not working

you have a faulty circuit somewhere, whether its in speaker wiring, or power source, i dont know, but your reciever has an automatic circuit breaker in it for protection, and a faulty circuit will trip it, i would assume it is a power source problem since it wont turn back on, check wiring, plugs and look around, and smell for burnt, or hot components.
