Question about Sanyo FXCD-500 RB CD/Cassette Receiver with CD Changer Control (Factory Refurbished)

2 Answers

Nothing happens I was able to remove the stuck CD from the audio systemby removing the face plate. I put the face plate back on and then replaced the cover (it is removable to prevent theft). Maybe I got that backwards. I checked the fuse and it is fine. The unit will not turn on. I did not disconnect any electrical. All I did was to remove the CD and reassemble the unit. I have done that twice and it still does not turn on. I have no radio, tape player or CD player working. Nothing lights up to indicate that the unit has turned on. Judi

You have to be more clear with your problems and if they have a problem saying the brand and model your problem may be that some wires were found off the red wire is 12-volt power must be yellow and also has to be 12 volts this is for the lighting of the screen.

Code 99, won't Eject cartridge

You need to remove the unit, or at the very least, remove and obstructing front face plates to see if there is a manual release. If not, remove the unit completely and see if you can remove the CD.

Nakamichi MB-70 CD player - cannot get cd to eject

Having just removed three discs from an identical unit which also jammed, I will say how easy that was. I do not know if the unit will now function when reinstalled in the vehicle.

Remove the unit from its mounts, remove the outer "frame" (if fitted), remove the two #2 phillips pan head screws from the sides holding the face to the chassis, remove the four #0 phillips screws (black, flat head) from the top and bottom of the face plate.

Slide the face plate off and carefully handle it while tethered by its ribbon wire.

Turing the unit upside down, peer into the opening and observe the disc, gently press the carriage away from the top of the unit (now the bottom, as it is inverted) and allow the disc to be freed, simply pull the disc out.

If there are multiple discs stuck inside, oberve the large metal gear just inside, carefully rotate the gear to actuate the loading mechanism as needed to release addtional discs.

Unable to remove cd magazine

The reason for this would most likely be that there is a disc stuck in the cd mech that has not returned to the magazine. It could also be a bad gear or belt, in fact there are a variety of things that can cause this. Unless you have some experience with this, I suggest that you take it to a service center. Ask them what they would charge to remove the magazine only and then return it to you. Sometimes they get stuck for odd reasons that may not happen again. If you ask them to just fix the cd changer, you will pay more for the repair if it only requires getting the magazine out to fix it. Then you can put it back in and see if it will work. Try it first with no disc in it, just in case it gets jammed again you will not have a cd in it. If it cycles thru its intialization process and you can still eject the magazine, there is a good chance it will work for you and then try a disc in it.

Many service centers will remove a stuck magazine for just $25 or so, but if you leave it for a repair you will spend much more even if there is nothing more wrong with it. I have been working in this field for nearly 20 years and have worked at 4 different service centers in that time, and every one of them did the same thing.

If the cd changer still doesn't work, take it back and see if they will apply the amount you have paid towards a repair. Believe me, you do not want to start taking these types of equipment apart if you don't need to. You may never get it back together again working right. They can be a real nightmere.
