Put old sim card in new phone. If you do not have the old sim card, you will need to contact the service provider for activation.

Vodafone cancelled my Sim number. It was in a NOKIA ASE-6XN permanently fixed in my car as emergency phone

Hi,
I just had the same problem. June 2017.
My ASE-6XN is purely an emergency set up and has been in my car 15 years + I was not using it enough so they cut me off although there was £20 balance in the PAYG sim
I do understand the Cell system some.
Firm discussions with Vodafone produced a replacement SIM but it was REJECTED by the phone.
I realised " after a while " that the older ASE-6XN needed a 2G SIM. The replacement I was given was a later G3.
This is no good in the older 6XN.
Vodafone could not now offer a 2G Sim even though they had caused my problem.
I ordered a G2 Sim from GiffGaff.
It worked immediately it was registered. Calls are 15p a min as against Vodafones 35p.
So I seem up and running again.
No help from VF
So try GiffGaff 2G Sim

All numbers are not transferring to new phone . LG gc900f is only moving some of the numbers to sim. Moving home numbers but not mobile numbers for the same contact and vice versa for others.

This is a common problem when transferring to any phone but especially the new smart phones even G2 - to G3 - so call the service provider and sometimes they will have a work around at one of their corporate stores. I had to do this once. If the phone is blue tooth you might try transferring the folder. I strongly suggest you take it your providers store.

Hi there, I have an i68 sciphone and I can send sms but not receive them. It shows a G2 symbol when the message is trying to come through but then it goes and no message comes through. I have tried...

A Solution:
(This worked on two i9+++ units with different firmwares).

1) Remove your SIM and SD-RAM from the phone;
2) Start phone, reset to factory defaults, reboot phone;
3) Turn off phone, insert SIM, restart phone - you should now receive SMS messages again.
4) Turn off phone & insert SD-RAM chip - restart and all your files should be there too!

I just did it for mine 5 minutes and I been searching for over 5 hours for a solution...Im just happy it worked, hope it works for you too!

''no service'' for sciphone dream g2

It maybe that your network is not supported by the phone. I generally recommend T-Mobile for Sciphones. The T-Mobile network is all 1900MHZ in the states, where as with AT&T you may run into some spots that do not support 1900MHz. All you have to do is go to T-Mobiles website, and order a SIm chip. The other advantage is that t-mobile has unlimited internet for 19.95 a month, and the Dream G2 supports the T-Mobile MyFavs Service. You can get it on contract or prepay monthly. AT&T does not have unlimited broadband unless you sign up for a contract. You can buy the T-Mobile Sim from www.tmobile.com. it costed be like $7.00 and some change. Then once you get it activate and it will ask you what service plan you want (online or by telephone).

Says insert smart chip

smart chip means the SIM card.

try cleaning the metallic part of the SIM card with a cloth and the metal connectors on the phone with cotton bud etc.

Put it back and try again.

If not working grab another SIM card (working - friend's etc) to test.

If still not working, send to service centre.
If working for other SIM card then replace your own SIM card.

G3 via G2

I've setup Nokia phones with 2G SIM's and I've had it running under GSM frequencies using a Optus 2G GSM SIM card; works fine. I've also put 3G SIM's in 2G Unlocked Phones and haven't had any issues before.

Have you tried putting in a 3G SIM and had problems?

Is your phone locked or unlocked?

Be careful of the terminology, some people get "3G" mixed up with the company "3" which is owned by Hutchison.

For example, if the phone is locked to 3, and you try and put an Optus/Voda/Telstra/AT&T SIM inside it will not work.

If it's just a Generic Branded 3G phone you should be fine.

Make sure your phone is unlocked, then purchase a SIM online or back at the AT&T store.

You should be able to take your phone back to the "stupid people" at the AT&T store and have them register a 3G SIM and you shouldn't have any problems; just tell them it's a unlocked phone.
