Question about Hampton Bay 04383 Calibre Ceiling Fan
I purchased a Hampton Bay "Caswyck" 54" ceiling fan. It comes with a hand held remote control. I do not want to wire it with the remote control function. Instead I purchased a ceiling fan/light wall control switch. No where in the ceiling fan owner's manual/instructions does it say how to wire the ceiling fan and light without the remote control. There is one black, one white, one red, and one green wire at the ceiling. The fan only has one black and one white wire coming from the remote box, and the fan itself has one orange wire (upper light), one blue wire(lower light), one black (motor), and one white wire (neutral). How do I go about wiring this fan to work without the remote? What is the sequence these need to be connected?
If you don't want the to use the remote you don't have to, but you don't have enough wires to switch the upper light, the lower light, and the fan. You can, however, switch the upper and lower lights together if that's okay. In order to do that you'd connect the white from the ceiling box to the white (neutral) on the fan, then the green from the ceiling box to any green(ground) wires on the fan, then the black from the ceiling box to the black(motor) from the fan, then the red from the ceiling box to the blue and orange (lights) from the fan. I'm assuming that the black and red in the ceiling box are also in the switch box where the fan/light control switch is going. Those are the ones you'll connect to the controller.
