Question about Dryers

Fridiaire dryer not turning on

I have a 2 yr old Fridiaire Dryer, model # Fridiaire FERB7800DSO (which doesn't come up on any search engine by the way??).
I cleaned out the lint trap the other day in the middle of a load (force of habit) and the dryer has not turned on since then. I have removed the front lint trap and completely cleaned it out. Still won't turn on. When we turn the start knob it's just a quiet noise like there is something not connecting electrically. I have removed the back wiring panel just to make sure everything is still connected and has good contact with it's counter part.
Any other ideas?

thanks. Any ideas on how to remove that front and top panel? I've looked online and everything says to remove the kick panel and screws. I don't see a kick plate or screws. Just the front panel (all one piece). I can see a ton of screws on the back... do I dare mess with those?

re: 2yr old Frigidaire issue ~
I got the top off of dryer and the belt is fine. The drum can move around just fine. I got out my OHM reader and tested the Thermal Limiter and a few other electrical parts, and there is current running through them. Any suggestions on what I can try next? it's getting pretty sad going to the laundry-mat when there is a 6 mos old learning to eat solid foods in the house! ~:)
    thank you for any suggestions...

Your drive belt is broke. remove the front panel and then the top panel and you will see there is no belt around the drum.

If you don't have a kick plate, see how the front panel is attached. Maybe it will come off all in one piece, then you can get the top panel up to access the drum. I'm not sure if it would hurt anything to remove the back, but from what i've experienced the top panel is attached to the top of the front panel and those two panels need to be moved to replace the belt.

The dryer does not heat.

If the dryer runs but does not heat, then there are many reasons why this may happen.
Remove the vent line from the rear of the dryer and see if it gets hot. if so you need to unclog the vent line.
If it does not then you have a bad thermostat .

Fridiaire dryer not turning on (another ??)

Yes, I had the same issue. If I slam the door shut very hard then it would work. So I found the issue is the door safety switch not turning on when the door is closed. Simple fix is to put some masking or duct tape on the door so that it would push the switch when the door shuts. There is an indentation in the door in the top left corner where the door contacts the switch. This causes the door to not turn the safety switch on when closed. Simply fill in the indentation with a little tape and problem solved.
