From the research I have done on your dvd model number, the usb cable used is a 2.0 and your dell600D has 2x hi speed 4 pin usb ports type A. You should be able to find an adapter piece to fix this problem. Since this is a dell you might want to call them to see if they sell these types of adapters. Dell is a proprietary system and they custom make their own components and systems, which makes finding components from another source difficult. It will take some digging around, but you should be able to find the adapter. Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance. Thanks

When trying to finalize DVD disc, why do I often get error E 22 Cannot record on this disc (DVD-R)?

I don't know what means error E22 but if you start experience frequently the record errore your burner is failing. Check connections in your computer, specially the data cable if you are using SATA. Use cables with a "clip" so your connection should not get loose.
If everyting is right and you still can't finalize correctly your recording, change your DVD burner

My LG Slim portable DVD writer GP50 keeps failing to install on my new Asus laptop. It connects, turns on, takes the DVD for installation, loads, and then just says it failed every time.

I was ready to write an absolutely scathing review of this product at first...BUT I have since changed my mind.

I purchased a new laptop several weeks ago and did not realize that the new laptop did not come with an internal disc reader. major boo. I also did not realize that the new laptop was not compatible with my existing printer, it required a wireless enabled printer. another boo. So I knew i needed a disc reader so I started researching and came across this model. For the price and claimed ability, I figured it would work well for my needs and purchased it.

It arrived in a timely manner and I was eager to install it and start using it...that's where the trouble began. I am a fan of following instructions since ultimately it saves time and prevents you from having to go back and read the instructions anyway. I made a smart preemptive move and bought the USB Y cable for external devices just in case I needed the extra power (highly recommend this, especially since I only paid $1.99 for the cable). I plugged the drive in and inserted the installation software and waited...and waited...and waited. My computer recognized the device and was attempting to install the software but was getting stuck in the death loop that everyone else with a windows 8.1 OS has mentioned. I attempted the installation for over 2 hours with continuous failed results. by this time I was outraged. I had tried to search for a driver for the device online on EVERY site and self-help forum I could find with NO luck. I was ready to pack the device back up and return it to the seller first thing monday morning. I, being righteously upset, decided to post a rant on facebook that one of my friends saw. She has a sister who is an IT geek (said in a loving manner) who wanted to see if she could take a look at it and try to help.

Long story short, if you are stuck in the installation death loop, try plugging the USB cable into each different port on your computer and trying it again. Also, try alternating on each port with the USB cable provided with the product and with the USB Y cable that I HIGHLY recommend getting. I was able to get my device installed on the second try with switching ports. Fair warning, when it DOES eventually install, there are some extra programs available that take some time to load and in my opinion for what i need this product for are useless to me but will undoubtedly be useful for someone else. DONT GIVE UP!!! This product will install eventually.

Avitar says it needs to be updated

Hello,

Step one is to find the manufacturers website for the Blu-ray player you are using.

Go to their technical support page and download the latest release or update for that player. (You may be asked to enter the model number and or serial number of the Blu-ray player you are using.)

Save or burn the downloaded file to a DVD and insert into your Blu-ray player. (While there are many easy to use DVD Burner software packages, Roxio is a user friendly application found on most computers.) Follow the on-screen prompts.

Or if the your player has a USB port, download the update into a flash drive, insert the flash into the usb port of your player, press Usb on the player's remote and the update should commence.

Good luck.

My LG DV492H will not play DIVX files. Will play audio files vie the usb input but not video files. Believe it may be a setting but have tried various options with no luck. Please advise on what settings...

I have he same problem, as well as my friend. If you insert a DVD video disk, start up the DVD player. It then starts to play the DVD. Stop it and insert the USB drive. Use title to browse to your movies. It then plays them. Tried this on 2 dv492h players and it works

Can't record DVD+RW and DVD+ Disks...PLUS

Firstly, you need to finalize the -R disk recorded by and in your unit before it will play back anywhere else.

Secondly, the DMR-ES10 does not support +RW, only -RW.

Finally, I have never heard of a +D. Do you mean +R? It is likely that you have a corrupt disk; change it.

Hi. I bought a Canon HF100 camcorder. I tried to burn a DVD using a Sony VDR-MC5 via the USB connection. Unfortunately it did not recognise the Canon! If I bought the Canon DM-100 burner I believe it can...

I discovered that the USB connection only works with the Canon DM-100.

I was able to connect the composite cables (red, white, yellow) from the AV out connection of the Canon HF 100. This works fine. It now records on DVD - R; DVD +R:
DVD - RW and DVD + RW.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
