Hi, I had the same problem and I simply gave up in the end after trying every bit of advice I was given. I then found out that I wasn't alone in this problem with the Lexmark so I bought a different brand of printer.

Make sure that you have taken off the special tape that is put on the end of the cartriges so the ink can be used, you may have just forgotten to take it off.

My Lexmark X1270 printer at one time worked, everything was good, then when I put a new color to black will not print any other color or a black color, print only a little pale, almost do not see anything...

Lexmark products work best with genuine supplies. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured, or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.
You can try to clean your cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer. From your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X1200 Series folder > select Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If that does not help, maybe it would be best to replace your supplies with genuine cartridges.
I hope this helps.

I refilled the cartridge but it still willnot print

Please note that Lexmark does not recommend use of a refilled cartridge. Refilling a cartridge can affect print quality and may cause damage to the printer. For best results, use Lexmark supplies.
You may try to re-insert the cartridges and make sure they are seated properly or clean the cartridge nozzles. Manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from possible dirt and clogs. Then, reinsert the cartridges in to the printer. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, please replace your refilled cartridges with new genuine Lexmark supplies.

I have had no problem with refilled cartridges up to now for my lexmark printer. After having the computer cleaned and updated etc. a new message appears on the screen when I want to print. It says the...

Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled/remanufactured cartridges. They tend to degrade print quality and cartridge performance since refillers don't have access to Lexmark ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark to pass through microscopic nozzles at extremely high temperatures.
Note that when a cartridge is refilled it can no longer register its ink level.

My printer dont print right it skips and i just put a new refill in

It could be due to the refilled cartridge you are inserting in the printer. Refilled cartridges tend to degrade in print quality and cartridge performance.
You can try to clean the cartridge nozzles. On the printer operator panel, on Copy mode, press the Menu button > Tools > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
Try to print your document again to verify that the print quality has improved.
If that doesn't help, I would suggest you replace your refilled cartridges with new genuine Lexmark cartridges.

My printer is brand new as are my ink cartriges. My printer prints blue lines over all documents

Try to manually clean the nozzles on the cartridges. Refer to this article in the Lexmark website on How to Clean the Print Cartridge Nozzles and Contacts Manually. This may improve the print quality on your printer. If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance. Thanks.

You may need a newer cartridge
See if the printhead has any abnomal markings.
You can compare it with the color printhead.
If the printhead is good, see if the ink is flowing through the printhead.
Fill the ink cartridge to maximum
Squeeze the sides of the ink cartridge, ink should flow out.
If ink is flowing out, remove any excessive ink with a paper towel.
Install ink cartridges, do NOT do any cleaning cycle.
Since your black cartridge is full, cleaning may cause it not to print.
Do some black copy operations.

Having trouble with ink refills

Many aftermarket companies have inferior parts in their ink cartridges. Stay with the genuine cartridge for yours. To save money refill your own. They can be refilled at a low cost and the cartrige will reload about 7 to 9 times before it no longer any good to use any more

Lexmark 1240 black ink prints in streaks.

Take the cartridges out, then unplug the machine so the cartridge holder stays in the middle. Take a bunch of wet q-tips and clean all around where the ink would come out. Check rollers and anywhere the ink could have dripped. Double check the maint. station, sometimes there is a wiper thingy that jumps up to wipe the inks.

Incorrect ink level reading

kiwipom, While ink cartridges look like plastic cups that only hold ink...they are not. The information the printer needs to think it has a "NEW" set of ink cartridges is on the cartridge itself. You must fakeout the printer to believe you are inserting "new lexmark" inks. Printer companies make money from the repeated sale of the ink, not the printer itself. I had an old epson that I would refill I would then have to place pieces of tape on the cartridge turn the printer on, remove the cartridge move the tape to another side of the cartridge turn on again etc. Anyway lexmark may need the same. When the new original cartridges show try them first to get the printer "thinking" correctly. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
