The door release bar on our KitchenAid KUDV24SE is hanging loose and so the door won't open. According to the installation booklet, the dishwasher should be attached to the floor or countertop to prevent it falling over when the door is opened, so I can't pull it away from the counter for better access. How do I open the door from the front? Thanks.

I will give it a try - short of breaking open the countertop there doesn't seem to be many other choices. Thanks.

    Thanks, Bob

Looks like a very tight spot to be in. Your best bet is to get the toe panel off (item 8) in this diagram. and then carefully release the springs (item 6) on each side with a nose plier.

This should free up the door at the bottom. If not, then try to drop the levelling screws (item 16) in this diagram. and see if that allow you drag the dishwasher out from under the bench.

no please do not break the kitchen counter. I am sure you will eventually get the door opened by working on the door hinge below.

How to start kitchenaid dishwasher

1-confirm power make sure breaker is not tripped or fuse is good and no tripped GFI's (no power obviously it won't work) 2-confirm water is on (the timer has a delay that it powers down during it's wait for the unit to fill with water 3-make sure the door is fully closed and latched properly (the door has a safety interlock to prevent the dishwasher from operating while the door is open -- think water sprayed everywhere) 4- beyond this if it is a new install and has never worked call your installer back

Not cleaning properly, and Water will not drain out. However when we pull the house out the water does drain. Assuming pump? KUDV24SE Kitchen Aid Built In

During normal operation the outlet hose should be higher than the outlet nozzle, if the water drains when youremove the hose it means that the pump is not working, open the bottom of the machine and remove the inlet side pump hose and check for any obstruction, clean and replace the hose. If this does not work you need to replace the pump.
