HDMI Cable? I'm trying to connect my DishNetwork DVR receiver to my Vizio 1080i television. The television has a slot for the HDMI cable, which is fine, but the DVR receiver has a USB port (along with the standard coax ports). I haven't been able to find any HDMI cables with a usb male end. Do they exist or should I be looking for another solution?

The monitor link is not a standard DVI connection, it was used to connect a Mitsubishi HD set top box. You can connect your cable DVR using component video cables and get HD that way, up to 1080i but not 1080p

It sounds that a software update is necessary. Contact the service centre for Panasonic, to get the latest software to this model Plasma tv.

Hello, there are a few things that could be causing this. Usually when this is happening, we have you unplug the receiver from the outlet for about 10 seconds, so if you have not done that yet, go ahead and do so. The receiver will sometimes do that, and it just needs to be rebooted. Cabling can sometimes be an issue as well. The quality of the cable can be an issue, or if the cable is a little loose, that can cause it as well. So I would try another cable, it doesn't have to be HDMI at the moment, just to see if it happens with the new cable as well. If you have the DVR connected to the TV with the Coaxial and the HDMI that is probably causing the problem I work for a Cable company and have dealt with this problem on numerous occasions. Try just disconnecting the Coaxial cable from the cable box that should fix this issue.

I would venture a guess that the HDMI cable itself is damaged. Try using a different cable.

I recommend you switch from using HDMI cables to using component (R/G/B RCA-style) cables. HD picture is superior through component cabling, and solves several HD picture issues.

What is happening is that when video resolution changes (like from regular programming to commercials) the video information is poorly sent down the HDMI line. Component cabling from your DVR will eliminate this problem.

Use the Time Warner remote and hit the settings button twice. Scroll down to "audio: digital out" and select HDMI. That solved it for me.

The only issue I have now is that I also have component sound outputs going from the cable box to a receiver. When I turn off the TV while the HDMI cable is hooked up to both the box and the tv the sound goes out to the receiver...

The 625 is not a high definition receiver and therefore does not support hdmi. You can use RGB or S-video to provide a higher quality picture than the coax output. If you need more options let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
