There are typically small pins that hold the band together. There is a special tool to use on metal watches that can be bought

The local SEARS store has a watch-repair department.

they are very tough they have more pressure on them than most spring pins also on your watch they are tucked into the leather very well. the best way is with a spring tool apply quite a bit of pressure. a normal watch band will not fit this watch. it will only take skagen replacement bands.

most leather bands use spring bars not pins meaning they dont push all the way out. pust down on one and twist the band in it should pop out

What is the reference of the watch? On the Cruise collection, the process is very simple: 1.      (To remove band) Squeeze the easy release spring bar to one side until it detaches from the watch case completely, do the same for both bands.
2.      (To attach new band) Take the straps that you want to put on and squeeze the easy release spring bar with your (nail or screwdriver) and insert into little groove, it should snap right into place
3.      Do the same for other band

The "gizmo" would be the pin that attaches the watch to the case. You can easily purchase a replacement pin or strap at any store that has watches (even Wal-Mart). These are very inexpensive and each one will cost you less than $10.
