You have to make sure your unit is connected to the PHONO INPUT connection on your receiver. If your receiver does not have a PHONO INPUT connection, then you will need to buy what's called a PHONO PRE-AMP - AVAILABLE HERE.

You connect the turntable to the Phono Pre-Amp, then you connect the Pre-Amp to the LINE IN or AUX IN of your receiver.

How to hook up sony str dg600 with a turnable?

Possibly. It depends upon the type of cartridge used by your AT turntable. If the volume is very low, there may not be enough output.

I have hooked my turntable up to my stereo and even at full volume its extreamly quiet, is there a problem or is this stereo just not set to play records? do i need some sort os amplifier?

Hi, Remove the rubber mat on the platter, there is a toggle-switch for the pre-amp. With the power off, manually rotate the platter and it will become visible through the gaps. This should resolve the low volume issue. Hope this helps. Post back with your results and good luck.

I just purchased a used Sony turntable PS LX 160H & am hooking it u Sony surround sound amp (there is no phono input but am using audio input) and getting sound but very low volume at max volume... How...

Just look around the web for a "Magnetic Cartridge Preamp".
You plug your turntable into this and the preamp in an aux socket of Surround Amp and the sound will be the same level as the other devices.

When plugged in to amp and eq switch on or off no volume through amp.turn amp full up and very low volume.cd ant tuner fine.just turntablethis is the ps-lx250h

Do you have a phonograph input on your amp? If not you may have to purchase pre amp. What type of cartridge do you have installed on the turntable? Do you have a moving coil or moving magnet cartridge? If you have a moving coil your amp needs to have an input for a moving coil cartridge or you must use a pre amp.

I have tried too hook up my Gemini XL-500, to a Sony Digital Audio DTS discrete 6ch Amp , but get very low volume, tuner & cd dvd, volume is fine, does this have anything to do with the ground?...

No! The amp must have a magnetic cartridge pre-amp to increase the sound level. If it has one it will say "phono" on the inputs on the back and have a "turntable" - or "Phono" selector switch. If it doesn't have one (many new surround amps don't) you won't be able to play it properly untill you get a "magnetic cartridge pre-amp". This will make the signal loud enough to be used on a normal aux imput of the Sony.

Ps-lx 430 1 speaker gives low volume. Otherwise speakers work with other components

This is an old-school turntable so it requires a PHONO input on the amplifier (or a Phono Preamplifier). It will not produce either enough volume or the correct frequency response without it. Google Phono RIAA

I just hooked up my husband's turntable to our stereo receiver and the volume is very low. Is that inherent in the unit, or am I missing something?

You need to make sure that you plug it into the receiver with PHONO input.
New receivers today does not have PHONO stage so the sound will be very very low and not listenable at all.

what model is your receiver?

Volume Level on Memorex 9299M 4-in-1 Turntable System Way Too Low

It's the nature of the all-in-one turntable beast to be low fi and low performance. Too much volume and vibration would feed back through the turntable.

It does have a Line Out that you could slave over to REAL electronics and speakers.

Low volume on PS LX250h

This turntable has a built in pre-amp, under the platter is a on-off switch. Turn it to "on".
