Printer will not print even though the cartdige is new

Did you find any solution to the problem of your printer? I have the same problem with mine. I changed the cartridge but still nothing gets printed. The paper comes out from the printer but nothing printed on it . I even updated the driver but no effect?

The ink heads are clogged with dried ink.

Follow these steps:
1) Begin saving money for a new printer.

2) Lift the scanner to get at the ink. Remove the cartridges.
Take cotton swabs and alcohol and clean all the ink off of the top of the heads (located in back.  they're the pointy things) until you can see the holes.  THE CRUCIAL STEP: Insert something-small enough to fit in the holes-all the way through every hole in every head. This should clean out the dried ink and allow your printer to continue to work.

3) If step two doesn't work, I really hope you did step one.
Don't buy an Epson.  They also have this other feature which prevents printing when one cartridge is empty.  Even a color cartridge.  I recommend a Canon, if you like name brands, or an HP.

I'd like to revise my solution with the following.

To Clean the Main Print Head
    Remove the ink cartridges.
There are two screws on the gray ink lid, visible when open.  Unscrew them, and then remove the lid.  There are three screws inside the ink carrier. Remove them.
Get a pair of Needlnose Pliers and a flat-head screwdriver.
There is a plastic plate near the front of the ink carrier, at the base. It forms a right angle with the left side.  On the top of the left side portion of this plate, insert the flat-head screwdriver and lever the plate inwards.  It will come off to reveal two gray cables.  Take the needlenose and grasp one of the ink heads.  Pull upwards and towards yourself.  When you can, remove the two cables from the ports in a straight outwards direction.  This should free the main print head from the rest of the printer.

At this point, you can purchase a new main ink head or wash your old one.  I am cheap and chose to wash the old one.

Get a small tub and some rubbing alcohol.  Pour the alcohol into the tub, and immerse the print head for several hours, shaking every once in a while.
Now comes the long cycle of cleansing the head totally.  Have a rag ready.  Remove the head from the alcohol, and wipe off the smaller print heads (the points).  Then, (here comes the crazy part) put it up to your mouth and put as much pressure as you can into all four, for about ten seconds.  Turn the head over and wipe off the ink that has come out.  Repeat until no more ink comes out. Then, immerse the head again, remove, and allow to dry naturally (or possibly by blowing on it). Make sure the two ports for the cables are dry.

Reassembling the printer/Inserting a new or refurbished head

Before pressing the head back into place, connect the cables, right one first.  There is an indentation on the top side of the head for the cables to fit.  Then, place the head snug into the ink carrier, front side first, angling towards the back, until it is flat.  Reinsert the plastic plate. There is a small tab on the right side of it, and that goes into the slot near the end of the right cable.  Press the plate back into place gradually moving towards the left, starting from the tab.  Put back all three screws, two on the top and one on the middle right. Reattach the cover, with the two screws on the left and right.  Reinsert the cartridges, and you should have a working printer.

Pressing the OK button will allow you to continue to print. Since the cartridge has been refilled, the printer ink level monitoring function will not work

Black ink won't print even though the cartridge is

Hi,

It could be you just have a bad cartridge, If it's new, take it back and get a new one to make sure it's not the cartridge. If you get the new one and it still doesn't print black, then you have a bad print head. Meaning it would need to go to a service dealer to replace or repair the print head.

Thanks Mark

Print keeps fading, even though using new ink

check your printer settings, make sure color only is not checked off, or if you mainly print black and white documents, you should have that option checked, you may have to go into advance printer options to do this.

My printer is not printing the colour yellow even though the cartidge is full and new

If you have run the nozzle cleaning utility, and you are not getting any yellow output, the cartridge is most likely defective. This also occurs if you are not using OEM ink cartridges.

Cartdrige alignment

Call HP and send it back. They'll run you through their hoops to make sure there really is a problem. (There is, it's a known problem with this printer). They'll send you a new printer and pay for the shipping to send back the broken one.

Don't wait too long.

If possible, save yourself a lot of grief and take the printer back and get a refund. This problem will continue to plague you at some point. It's a problem with the printer itself not in how you use it.

Their software often gets corrupted on your computer and requires reinstalls, you'll have problems with the updates, faxes may or may not go through -- I had mine for a year and trust me it's just better to get a refund and try another computer.

This time, I'm searching Fixya and other sites for known problems before investing a few hundred for a printer.

Unfortunately for me, mine didn't show up until after my warranty expired. (A week after).

Good luck!
