Question about Insignia Kix MP3 Player

1 Answer

No sound mp3 player seems to be working except for the sound. We have changed the headphones for ones that we know work and still no sound. It shows that the song is playing.

Please confirm that the volume is turned up and the headphones you're using work by using them on another device. If both those points are confirmed, you may have a faulty headphone jack. Take (or send) the unit for repairs.

Only one headphone works

I would find out if you're in warranty. One headphone working is a hardware issue - if you were to insert another headphone set into your player, you would find that the next headset would only get sound out of one ear. Unless you live in Philadelphia, I would go ahead and call Sandisk to see if you are eligible to get that player replaced. I work for another large consumer electronics company, and we definitely give out replacements for the one- headphone-only issue. Sorry to hear that the player went out on you - good luck on the replacement.

RCA OpAL MP3 player

My son had a similar issue with his. It turned out that he had damaged the headphone/charger/download/upload jack. There was no way to easily fix it, but we were able to return it to Wal-mart for another one. Why they decided to use this jack for so many different functions, I have yet to figure out. It's really a poor design for an otherwise nice mp3 player. If you can't take it back where you bought it, you are pretty much out of luck, unless you're handy enough to take the player apart and replace the jack. Sorry.

NO sound??

Make sure the volume is turned up sufficiently. If it is, then get it exchanged if still in warranty.
