Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

I have just purchased SimCity4 but cannot put in that 20 digit registeration code as it isn't on the CD case, on the back of the install guide nor inside it. HOW CAN I GET THE REGISTRATION CODE? I've the 5 digit access code from the manual and I've the purchase receipt from Wal Marts. What do you need to give me a registation code-because without it this is totally worthless. hrose_m@yahoo.com

I returned it to the store for a refund. Not having the registration number in or on the package and the inability to get contact with customer support for the game made it worthless.
thank you for responding

Uniden DECT6.0 Model D1680 Problem: Need to change recorded message ,cant get past Security Code_ a 2 digit pin .Forgot what is was..

The only time the Security Code is used is to effect
Remote Access, ie, "call home and manage your
answering machine messages remotely" by pressing
the code numbers while the Greeting is being said....

The Security Code is set on the D1680 from the handset
by this procedure:

press [menu]
scroll to "Ans. Setup"
press [select]
scroll to "Security Code"
press [select]
the code will be displayed, first digit blinking
(enter a new digit if you want to change it )
the code will be displayed, second digit blinking
(enter a new digit if you want to change it )
press [select] (chirp) press [END}

All of the Answering Machine System functions can
be managed remotely, and voice menus are provided
to guide you in these operations.

Entering the model number found on a small sticker under
the battery in the handset at www.manualslib.com will
fetch a free copy of the User's Manual in case the original
has been misplaced.

Good luck!

Phone has been dropped a few timesaffecting the sound quality in the speaker. Also the back will not stay attched. How do I get it repaired and what is the fee?

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

You have a couple of options that you should carefully consider.

Option 1) Send the phone to the manufacturer for repair. However, when you do you'll probably receive a notice that the handset should be replaced with a new one (because it is beyond repair). Manufacturers would rather sell you a new handset than repair an old one due to numerous reasons. And, the price will probably be much higher than purchasing the handset locally or from eBay.

Option 2) You're going to need to know the exact model number of your phone. There are MANY DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone Models. And, you need the exact model number to replace the handset.

New, replacement handsets can be purchased on eBay for far less than you'd pay for one from the manufacturer. On most phones, a new handset is programmed to the base by setting the handset in the base (not the spare extension charger base - but the main base) for 20 seconds. But, read your user guide to make sure.

If you do elect to send your handset in for repair, (and it can be repaired) I've seen it take from one to two months to get one back. So, keep this in mind when making your decision. The address for service and repair can be found in your phone's owner's manual. Or, you can click on this link to visit the Vtech Support Web page: Vtech Product Support Notice on their web page there isn't an actual link for repairs. As I wrote, they'd rather replace than repair it.

The actual cost for repairs won't be known until the handset is inspected by a qualified technician.

My suggestion is to save yourself a major headache and replace the handset either locally or from eBay.

When i put my phone on its saying enter puk code?

If it's asking for a PUK code, it means that your SIM card is blocked. When you purchase a SIM card, you'll be given two PUK codes that you need to enter in case the SIM gets blocked. You can contact your network provider if they can give it to you.

I have a new ds 3111 model, why do I need to dial my own area code do dial other numbers in my area code, even to dial my own number

You need not dial your area code within your code.
You can change the number of digits dialed, in this case seven digits, from the call log.
Press menu/select; Press up/dn to select call log; Then press menu/select; When in call log press up/dn to scroll through the records. All incoming calls are displayed on the screen. Although the call log entries you receive have ten digits, you only need to dial seven digits (within your zone). This is where you change the number of digits you dial within your zone. While reviewing the call log, press # repeatedly to display these dialing options.
Do you have a user guide for the ds 3111? if you do this info is on page 29. If you do not have a user guide you can download one for free at the following link; www.vtechphones.com/docMgt/public/art/309491/ds3111-2_manual_i4.pdf

Let me know if this solves you problem.

Switchboard PABX purchase

If you need 8x30, you start with a minimum of TDA-100. It grows to 96 ports and you would start with 8 lines and 32 digital ports.
Your phones become KXT-7633's, not the 7731's. On this side of the pond, it costs about $20 more per phone, but you gain the use of 12 extra buttons, 3 line display, and more features.

Your Panasonic TDA/TDE dealer can guide you.

If you still have the manual try looking at the troubleshooting guide and see if your problem is mentioned in there. Or you may need to reset or put in the digital security code. It will tell you how to in the manual.
