If you are on Windows XP SP2 you already have a firewall built into the security settings of the comptuer. Windows XP could have turned it off because if you have two of them running it can slow your computer down.

Either unistall fire wall aid or turn off the windows firewall in the control panel in Windows XP. If you look in the security section of windows Xp, it will tell you which one is on.

How to replace throttle cable on 2001 chevy monte carlo 3,4 engine

Under the dash remove retaining clip from pedal lever and spray outer cable housing with PB Blaster. Then go under the hood and before pulling cable, through the fire wall bushing.....Attach strong nylon string or 14ga. wire to pedal end of cable, string is to be attached to new cable, to aid in pulling new cable back through the fire wall bushing....spray new cable end with PB Blaster on new cable end so it will slide easily through the fire wall bushing....Attaching the cable ends should be evident on what is required for attachment..........Wipe off excess PB Blaster from cable after installation......Adjust cable for free play at the Throttle Body, to prevent a High Idle condition.....

My thermostat on the front dash clicks when i turn to hot

there are two hoses that usually 20 to 25 mm thick that goes from manifold to you engine fire wall , before they reach fire wall you will see a silver can shaped object with a linkage attached , replace this unit. by removing hose clamps , you should see a choke type plate inside that is jammed or broken , usually closed which what stops hot water going through you heaters .

it is located under the hood on the right side in the fire wall. there is a cover over it you need to remove first to access it. unplug the fan motor and remove that cover. then there are small screws holding the fan in that you need to remove then you can pull the old motor out and transfer the wheel to your new motor and reinstall. here a picture to aid you. hope this helpsonetufshoppe_109.gif

Our kitchen Aid Superba Double Oven makes noises when we turn it on and also as it cools down. It sounds like a fan-type noise. How can we fix it?

We had the same problem. It is the fan in one or both of the ovens. we had a repairman come out because the ovens have to come out of the wall. It was a quick fix.

Will not come on after self cleaning

Hi,

this is a common occurance with many self clean ranges, especially slide in and wall oven units. the kitchen aid ranges usually have a non reset hi-limit. meaning it opens one time and needs to be replaced, sadly.

to replace the thermostat can be tricky to do if you're not experienced, so if you have any reservations about taking you range apart, call a qualified tech in your area. if you decide to take a go at it, well first things first.

**FIRST unplug from the wall or shut off the breaker**

*the other issue is not knowing what model you have.

I can tell you most recent kitchen aid units made by whirlpool have a fixed hi-limit at the back outer oven wall. remove the rear panel, and the hi-limit should be easily accessed. that part # 8300802

hope that helps,

good luck

Williams wall furnace no longer adequately heats home

A couple thoughts. On some of the wall furnace gas valves there's a knob that you can set for low fire or high fire. If your valve has this make sure it is in the high fire setting. Is the wall furnace controlled by a wall thermostat or a knob on the heater? With the thermostat turned all the way up like to 90, does the burner and fan continue to run or is the burner short cycling. Is the fan clean and running up to speed. Some of the Williams wall furnace had a two speed fan motor so when the fan came on at first it would run on low speed. As the heat exchanger got hotter the internal fan switch would switch it to high speed. Outside of that you would need a monometer to check the manifold gas pressure.
