Durring the day the A/C unit works fine but at night it will cycle on and off every 30 seconds. Still stays cold, but it drives you nuts. Any ideas?

Yep, my unit reachers the correct temp and then right away starts to turn the compressor on and the termal keeps that from happing a couple of times. Sounds like a bad termisistor.

Frank...your unit sounds like it is running properly fans in A/C generally run all the time and the compressor cuts in and out when the tempreture you have selected is reached, the only exception if these units have a rechargable gas system, i don'tknow wether or not they do, then like dash A/C it will have a low gas protection switch which will cut the compressor off, once the gas accumalates it will turn back on untill the gas is so low that it will not turn back on unless fully gassed, hope this helps......John

My problem is the fan never goes off runs 24-7 and you can hear the compressor kick in from time to time. Is something wrong or do they all do that for a roof top unit? Any help on this one?

Sounds like the compressor is seized up and the smell is from the clutch slipping when it tries to engage. If that is the case, you need a new compressor at a minimum.

Duo-Therm ac when the temerture is reached the fan will shut off but the compressor stays running

Sounds like you hit it on the head--compressor should turn off when unit reaches the preset temperature.

Have a duo therm ac and the low ac and low fan not work -

Thermostat on wall, or manual controls at AC? Did it work for you on low before now? Reason I ask, is that normally they are only a 2 speed fan ( low and high) so if it's a wall thermostat and has been changed from original, perhaps it the way the thermostat is wired.

I have a 2005 Pilgram 27 foot 5th wheel. My Duo Therm AC unit makes a ticking sound from the ac unit itself when it's not running. Shutting off the Duo Therm analog thermostat does not stop the ticking...

It's obviously on the 12voltDC circuit of the AC unit. Sounds like thermostat, or a relay in control box is faulty or bad connection. If you remove cover on ceiling assy., you should be able to hear it in the control box. There should be a model number on the ceiling assy., get back to me with that number and I can better pinpoint which relay. Also, try moving all thermostat buttons and temperature controls back and forth quickly to see if it may clean off a dirty circuit in thermostat as well. Make sure your AC hydro breaker is off when working with ceiling assy. just to be safe.

Duo Therm Fan Blows, No cool air. Worked yesterday, not today?

most likely compressor running could be capacitor, breaker, relay,or compressor it self start by checking power to unit

I have a dometic duo-therm. No air coming through ducts.

Sounds like the ducting have come apart in some areas or blocked in some way. Take the supply grills off and with a shop vacuum try and reach as far as you can.

Penguin Duo therm AC bogs

Try replacing the wall thermostat with an electronic unit. It sounds like it is short cycling. If there is not at least 5 min delay before trying to restart the compressor this is what happens. Most electronic thermostats have a delay feature built in to solve this problem.

Duo Therm Thermostat

Hi there

I think this is a setting on your air conditioner, the air conditioner will turn off when the room is at the correct temperature and when the room starts to warm up, the air conditioner will turn back on. (You need to find the settings and change them from auto-adjust to manual-adjust)
