Sony KP-46WT510 46 in. Rear projection shuts off

I've had no problems with my Sony. Picture was great. Yesterday it shut off and now won't come back on. Sometimes the sound comes on as if it's getting ready to come on, then it shuts down and the red light blinks repeatedly. I cleaned the inside the day before but was careful not to touch anything. I cleaned the three projection lights with a microfiber cloth as I was instructed to do and have done many other times. It worked fine the rest of that day and evening but stopped working the next day. Could I have caused the problem? What could the problem be.

Solution didn't help. I was not sure what he meant by lead wire and powerpoint.

Do I get charged for each suggested solution?

I checked the lamps and they are all still connected.

Checked the circuit but didn't find anything disconnected.

Finding a repair person was a solution I already checked into. Is there anything else to try besides this?

Just try to unplug the RGB connectors and then replug it back that should take care there must be a loose connector which is causing the issue.

Check the connectors to the three RGB lamps and boards, you may have disconnected one of them.

You get charged only once for the service. Start inspecting the connectors and lamps, if this is not the problem come back to us and get additional help.

kp57ws50_57_in_rear_projection_hd_228277.jpg Problem with Sony KP-57WS520 57 in. Rear Projection

This model is really prone to one problem in particular--screen even briefly comes up bright red, green or blue and set shuts down.

15 seconds from turn on front power light should blink as set checks several things internally---if something wrong it does not let picture show.

Usually after shut down or failure power light will blink a sequence of blinks but not always depending on problem.

Did you see the screen at all go red, green, or blue before?

the more you tell me the better I can help

My tv too had a blue screen problem. Then it started to shut down after staying on for less than a minute. I thought that I would with a huge repair bill but I followed the directions at this link: http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html and now my tv works perfectly.

eight blinks means, "High-voltage error" and the probable cause location listed is, "T8005 is faulty (D board)". T8005 is the fly-back transformer assembly.

Kp-53xbr200 SONY video shuts off but sound stays on

Sounds like a bad solder connection. When you lose video, does the on screen display still work, and if so how about your picture in picture? If no OSD or PIP works then you may be loosing your High Voltage to the picture tubes. Some circuit board assemblies are no longer available from Sony for this model so you may be out of luck if the problem is more than a bad connection.
