The oven door won't open. It happened when it wasn't being used. How do I get the door to open?

If it is a self cleaning oven try running it thru the clean cycle to see if the door will unlock at the end of the cycle.

How do I use the self-cleaning function on my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven?

If you just want to run the basic self-clean cycle. First remove the broiler pan and racks from the oven. Next clean any heavy spills up with a non-abrasive cleaner (do not use an oven cleaner). Clean the window of the oven door and the door frame (to the outside of the gasket). Then close the oven. If the oven has a touch-pad, press the Auto-clean pad on the oven followed by Start. The oven will automatically lock and then unlock when the oven has cooled after the cleaning cycle. (I'm less certain of the control settings for the dial type of oven control.)

In order to get your manual you need the full model number of the oven. This is on a plate located behind the storage door. This pdf, http://adcxns1.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/ca8e028c60d9804f85256a8c00621f04/$FILE/4322089.pdf , gives you a picture of where the model and serial numbers are is on page 4 as well as some of the information contained in the serial number on the subsequent pages.

Once you have your model number, go to http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp?siteCd=WHRCOM and enter the model number. This should let you get the manual specific to your oven.

I hope this helps.

Error code F5:E7 Can not get the oven door unlocked or reset this code. What do we do?

Beginner on forumn, don't have any manual in front of me on f5:e7. Sounds like a conventional oven problem, oven door locking. If in fact is some form of conventional heat oven (convection?), I had similar problem with a GE range, it flashed some kind of code seams like which I later interpreted by using owner's manual that explained codes. In my case it was in "cleaning mode" and you can't turn that off unless you unplug or turn breaker off, that puts it back to default mode with nothing running. I simply tried out the self cleaning feature, from there the oven went to full on heat and oven door locked unexpectedly. I learned stays locked till cycle finishes and oven cools, which is some time after the oven automatically switches off, said that it can be a couple of hours before you hear a...click, and now door opens (note to self, don't ever do that again).

I HAVE A DCS OVEN AND I USED THE SELF CLEANER ON IT ON SUNDAY NIGHT. WHEN I WOKE UP ON MONDAY MORNING THE CLEANING LIGHT WAS STILL ON EVEN THOUGH THE OVEN WAS COOLED DOWN. WHEN IT WOULDNT OPEN, I USED A...

Hi.

The Oven getting lock after self cleaning is not uncommon.

That is caused by the high temperature reached on self cleaning, that can jam the control board or damage the door lock or the temperature probe.

Try first tripping circuit breaker or disconnecting power cord for five minutes.
After restarting try the oven.
If the oven still does not work, then hold down the cancel button for ten seconds.

If still no luck, then the oven is faulty in consequence of the extreme temperature reached in self cleaning.

If the Oven has regular display, then faulty part is usually the temperature probe.

If oven has no display, then the control board may had been damaged.

I can understand what problems a faulty oven can be in this moment.

Try first the reset, if that does not work, ring the number listed at the end of the owners manual to see if today any technician is available.

A local technician could easily put back the oven to work, replacing the probe, the point is that it will be difficult to find a technician right now.

Let me know if the reset works.

Regards.

DOOR SHOWS OPEN BUT IT IS NOT

After self cleaning the range the door won't open....
The oven door lock needs approximately 1 hour to cool down before the oven door can be opened after a self cleaning cycle has finished. If the lock does not open after the oven has cooled down, you can try....1) Unplugging the range or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the range back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and try moving the door lock lever or opening the door. 2) Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever or opening the door.

Hope this may help;
