Does the phone power on at all? If you hold down the red button on the front it should power on. If it is not powering on, either your battery is dead (needs a charge) or your battery or phone may be defective. Try plugging in the the power supply and then turning the phone on to see if it powers on.
My dear friend, sorry, there is no other way to power on your nokia 5160 xpress music phone. The only other way you can power it on is to get the phone opened and use an object to touch the power button manually.
If your phone does not power on by the power button, first ensure that your battery is fully charged. Then you check if your phone is working properly. Test your battery by inserting it in another phone and try to charge it for about 2 hours, then you power on the phone to see if the battery will turn it on. Then you insert a well charged battery into your phone, then you power it on, if it turns on, then it means it is the battery you are to replace, but if it does not, then it means there is an internal problem with the phone.
Hope this helped you.

Provide the phone a full system charge about 45 minutes should store original phone capacity to handly entire functionality pass the power on a few seconds display mode. check on the phone saver or background display and lightening settings. Power saver features could cause the phone to power to sleep mode when not in use. an extensive setting of power saver screen display only a few second soon after the phone is powered on could be distracting to user experince, especially when least recogision of the phone is made by owner
These phones can take their power from a Power over Ethernet switch, where all you need to do is plug the phone in to the switch and it gets its power from there.
You can also get power cubes for these phones, but they do not come with the phone as standard, as most people like the convenience of having the power coming from the switch, and not needing to use up a further power socket in the floor/wall.

Change out your cable from the wall drop to the phone. A Cisco phone is capable of receiving inline power (Power Over Ethernet) via the blue and brown pairs of the cable. It sounds like you may have a cable with a short in either the brown or blue, or both pairs, shorting out the power when it is connected via ethernet.
If you can, have your IT Tech check the cable, and the line through the wall to the switch.
you need to replace the power button so that you can power your phone well again.
But there is another way by which you can power the phone without the power switch. This will involve you opening the phone cover so that you can gain access to the power button area on the phone board/panel.
Get a phone screw driver, open the phone, insert the battery into the phone, get a tiny wire and bridge the power switch panel and the phone will power on.
Try this, and it will work. I am very sure about this.
