My HP LaserJet 1320 will not print labels

  • Anonymous Sep 15, 2008

The printer won't pull labels through. The little rubber pad that spins to catch the paper won't catch the label sheet. I used to be able to bend the edges of the labels in order to force it to catch, but that won't work anymore.

Labels will not print. They are Maco ML-8100 labels. The printer takes about half the sheet and stops.

Can you give more details on the issue that you are experiencing? What type of printer are you using? What type of labels are you attempting to use?

Thanks.

Can Cymo lables be used in the Smart Label Printer 100

If you mean Dymo labels and if the Dymo labels have a black rectangle on the reverse and if the labels aren't to wide, then the labels should work. You may run into problems with the Label printer advancing too far after printing; unfortunately, you will have to manually re-align the label after printing

Label double print

It's possible that the printer did not get a good calibration on the size of the label. There's an optic sensor looking for the gaps in the labels. A test would be to turn the printer off and back on again. When it is ready, just press the feed key. If one label advances then the printer had a good read on the label size. The idea is to see if the printer works ok by itself first.

Now print a label - if you get two labels then you have to look at the software / printer driver as the cause. The printer will only do what it's told to do.

Hope that helps !

I get 2 labels(1 with data and 1 blank)for every label printed

THE LABEL SENSOR IS NOT SENSING THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT LABEL

Clean the photo eye that senses the label gap with a q tip and alchol

Open side door release print head and remove label stock you will see small photo eye clean

put printer in manual mode( switch 1 on to and 1 on botom on

turn printer on it should advance one label and hit skip it should advance another

put back in computer mode

should work now if it still skips check yur label desigh=n software and label mode (continuous or sense label)

Best of luck to you

Manual calibration of labels not working, printer not feeding labels correctly

printer manufacturers has different standards depending from the varieties of model and brand of printers for example an epson printer model who is older version is not the same speed print with the recent model likewise with the other brand. Therefore calibration of labels is depending to the version of the printer you are using now.

It's not the printers, has to be the software.

Label Printing

I had the same issue when using Avery labels, here's what resolved it for me.

Go to Control Panel, Printers, go to the active default, right mouse click, click Printing Prefrences..., change the drop down "Type is:" to 'Other Photo Paper" and apply.

You should then be good to go!
