We have and RCA dual screen portable DVD player. It played disks fine then one day became really picky about reading disks. It seems only to read the cheaper movies. It will no longer play videos it once played. The disks spins and spins then finally stops. Sometimes after opening and closing the unit multiple times it will finally read. Also, when it does read the disk the picture will pixel.

Try cleaning the laser lens if this don't repair it ,is the flat cable connector between the laser lens and the main board.Good luck

turn off and, unplug your DVD recorder remove the six screws holding on the top tilt the back of the top up disengage the front of the top and set it aside look for a small laser tag this will point to a 1/4 inch glass lense this is the laser taking rubbing alcohol on a q-tip gently clean the lense with a twirling circular motion

This sounds like the laser cant focus right on the disc so it keep searching. try to clean the eye of the laser with a Qtip and rubbing alcohol. Usually i make sure the the tip if fluffy with a brand name qtip, then i take another one and do it again, then i used the dry one to dry it out and i make sure that there is no forget area and no hair or dust remaining. IT gotta be PERFECTLY clean. If it still dont work, repeat the process if it does not work and you try cpl other disk without result, throw it away. We yall know electronics is dispose after use by now, thats what it is...
