Thanks for the info. I have a feeling that I've been sold the wrong size of belt as try as one might, it doesn't fit round both pulley and wheel. Trying to achieve the impossible on Saturday afternoon! Thanks again for your help :)

Hi,
I don't have the exact same model as yours, but on my WE16 I just place the belt over the motor pulley and partly round the big wheell attached to the drum, and then turning the big wheel by hand the belt gradually goes on completely. No adjustment to the spacing is necessary, unlike, say, the alternator belt on a car.
Hope this helps ya :-) D

Remember to have the machine disconnected from the power supply when working inside it!

I have just checked my WE16UK and the belt has a code on - EL 1046 H8, and elsewhere on the belt there is 05 and 306. Thinking the 1046 might be the length of the belt I passed a tape measure round the outside of it, and that gave a reading of 1067mm! Close, but not very.

You might try measuring the >inside< length of the belt you need by passing a tape around the motor pulley and drum wheel and comparing that with any numbers on the belt you have bought. You could also try entering your machine / model number on some of the Ebay vendors websites to see if you get any matches or conflicts.

Hope this helps a bit. D

How do you release the tension bolt to fit the belt on the washing mashine

To fit the belt it is not necessary to release the tension bolt. To remove the belt use a long screwdriver. Put it between the belt (sideways) and the large wheel, lever the screwdriver to outside while moving the wheel in clockwise/anticlockwise depending upon where you put the screwdriver at left/right side. Reverse the procedure for putting the belt on the wheel. While putting the belt first fit it on the motor pulley.

Replace belt on Hotpoint Aquarius WM31 washing

Hi.
Remove top cover of washer.
Remove rear access panel.
Slacken off the motor fixing bolts, and pull motor towards drum top.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and then feed it round the drum pulley from the rear of the washer.
Tighten motor bolts just enough to hold motor steady, and pull motor towardsa cabinet side to tension belt, it needs to be farly tight.
Then tighten motor bolts securely.
Fit back top and rear covers.

Refit belt

There is provision made for tensioning the belt.
It is self tensioning.
Remove top cover and rear panel.
With the washer tilted away from you,(get someone to hold it for you)Fit the belt round the motor pulley first, then slowly feed it round the drum pulley, turning the pulley at the same time, watch your fingers as it will be very tight, and just keep going until the belt is on, if it slides off, just start again.
Good luck.

Can't fit a belt to the Bosch washing machine. Is

There is no provision made for adjusting belt.
With the rear panel removed, fit the belt round the motor pulley first, and slowly feed it round the drum pulley, at the same time turning the pulley by hand..
Watch your fingers, it will be tight.
You will find it easier to do if you lean the washer away from you, this will give you more room to get your hands in..
Hope this helps you.

Fitting a new drive belt to a hotpoint aquarius

Remove lower rear panel, tilt washer forward, getting someone to help, and fit belt round motor pulley, then fit belt round drum pulley, slowly turning the drum pulley round as you feed the belt on, it is very tight, and you might think the belt is to small, but this is normal, as the belt stretches, just persist, but be careful you do not trap your fingers. Good luck.
Please rate my solution.
TRhanks.

I need to change the drive belt on a Tricity Bendix 1200 washing machine. I have got the top of and can see the hole at the bottom of the machine but can't reach where the belt fits.

the belt goes round the motor spindle at the bottom. tape belt to large pulley. tilt machine backwards and put belt over motor shaft and tape into position. start belt onto main pulley and turn it so belt eases on. it is a tight fit

How do I fit a new belt on my Indesit Wil 113 washing machine?

I think its a 'front Loader'? Take the back panel off, to expose the main drive belt & pulley. When fitting the new belt it needs stretching by first putting it around the motor drive shaft & easing on to the main pulley whilst gradually rotatng the pulley. You need to finish up with the belt in the centre of both of the pulleys if possible
