I have an acer aspireone notebook i am travelling and got the Windows\system32\config\system‎ corrupt of missing message. With no external CD Rom and no disk in sight. Is there a way to download the file to restore my computure. I

To repair missing or corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then - Press R to repair when instructed. Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder. Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter. The repair process will take quite a long time.

problem :
Corrupted Operating System.
Solution :
Try to perform a System restore, press ALT + F10 when you turn on your laptop and follow the steps.

So then i click r at the first screen and nothing happens...It keeps on repeating to repair on and on with the same message after i clicked r. I can't even access to the window...what can i do???

you can use system restore to solve this problem .
try to restore your system to an earlier working restore point.
this will fix your problem.

if you can get an external cd/dvd drive from a friend, then you could solve the problem.

other solutions would mean that you will reinstall windows again. This takes more time and has a few tricks to be done from a flash drive.

You can do a refresh of your Windows OS, if you have Windows XP. You need to boot to your XP CD and do a repair. This will only restore the Windows OS files and you will not lose your personal data.

Is this XP?
Do you have the XP cd or the recovery cd's. This needs to be fixed by performing a Windows repair.
missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system"means that the OS,XP, is missing an essential file to run.
Or it could mean that your hard drive is failing. Is the hard drive noisey?
