When i connect my sandisk sansa m240 mp3 player , a message display that device not recognized. plz help

most of the mp3 players are recognized without installation cd itself.
please answer me the following questions
1. are you using your mp3 player for the first time in your computer or you uninstalled the software and lost the cd .

2. what happens (or shown )in the screen of the player when you connect the device to your pc

keep the hold switch to right side and connect to pc...then format the player or try updating the firmware..tht must do...

How do you delete songs of the sandisk mp3 player the model is m230


Windows XP puts the Sansa drive into MTP mode by default. (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol )

In order for the Sansa device to be seen as a drive letter, it needs to be in MSC mode.

OK, enough background! On your Sansa device, go to Menu | Settings | USB and select MSC. Once you exit the menu and connect the device to your Windows XP machine it should be recognized as a drive letter.

This method worked for my Sansa M240. Hope this helps!

Sansa m240 can't work


try formating the player when connected to the pc. and then get the firmware re flashed.. hoping u have not tampered on it's board.... and contact the sansa care from its website.. all the best..

Sansa won't play songs

You can try formatting the player, if your computer will recognize it. Go to my computer, right click the device and choose format (if you're using Windows XP).

I hope that helps at least a couple of you. Those are pretty nice players for the money.
