Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Sony DSC-W80 digital camera

The above mentioned camera with item no 360020003056 was bought in March 08 from ebay from techniwas-power seller.

The camera has been used only few times and the last time, few weeks ago was used when it lens will not go back in the original position and remain stuck outside. Since then we cannot use it as the lens is stuck and no other function works.

We took it to the service centre in Pune with all the documents, however they refused to handlke it in the absence of serial no of the camera mentioned on the the techniwas invoice.
Hence request you to help and give some solution to fix it.

Try gently pulling on the end of the lense and twisting, be gentle you may hear it click but do not force it then switch on again and this may solve the problem

Sony DSC T1 - blurry screen and photo

It seems to be the issue with the CCD of the Camera. Until March 31, 2010, Sony will repair, free of charge, the following product models exhibiting the above-mentioned symptom where it is caused by the image sensor device.
Refer the following link:

You can also perform the below troubleshooting steps.
1. Press the reset button with a sharp pointed object when the Camera is turned ON. The Reset button is located near the Control button.
2. You can also power reset the Camera. To reset the Camera, remove the battery from the Camera, press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds and then, reinsert the battery.

First are you using a genuine Sony battery if not then get one. if you are it is a faulty battery pack and requires replacement, if under warranty take it back to the place of purchase

DSC-F707 camera cuts off after 10 second , just bought a new battery.

I also bought an aftermarket battery for my F707 on Ebay and got the same "for info...." message.
I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one and it worked, don't see a way around it.
