Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

The sound of my windows vista dvd player is only on about number 10 and seems too low. The up icon doesnt appear to have lit up either? How do I know what the highest volume should be? The DVD plays normally on a standard DVD player connected to TV.

Windows media player will not play DVD,s because of a number of queued files .

The easiest solution is to download VLC Player. It is free and located at:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Do NOT download from the myriad of other 'download' places that appear in Google ads if you use that instead of the link I provided.

VLC (Video LAN player) plays just about everything in the world and is a lot easier to use than what Windows provides.

Windows Media Player will try to delete your files if you try to remove the queued files.

LG Z1 the cd dont works

try this one:
if you are using windows XP

- click start
- click run, in the run type in regedit
you will see a registry editor window
in the registry editor window
- click the + sign at the hkey_local_machine
- click the + sign of system
- click the + sign of currentcontrolset
- click the + sign of control

there will be bunch of random letters and number under that control
try to find this one
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

if you click this check if you will be able to see DVD rom at the right side of the registry editor window
you must delete the upper and lower filters
after that restart the computer and try to put in dvds

for windows vista and windows 7

- click start, type in the start search regedit

after this just follow the instructions with the windows xp

--------------------------------------

if that doesnt work, try to update the DVD codec.
you can also try to download the most updated windows media player, power DVD or any software/program that have dvd codecs or that acts like a player for DVD

i hope this works.

Windows media player cannot detect my dvds in the dvd rom player. i have windows vista

Open "My Computer".
Insert a CD-disk into the drive, while holding-down the LEFT-SHIFT key.
Does the label under the CD-icon change?
Remove the CD-disk.

If no changes in the icon, after the above, it's time to spend $40 to replace the "dead" drive with a new CD/DVD writer.

Norton 360 install has replaced/overridden DVD drive

Hi, I can certainly understand how you feel and hope I can help.

error 19 isnt necesarily a corrupt driver, it can be 2 drivers trying to use the same resource (as in norton's backup drive and your cd drive, for example)

Try this - Click the start button, right click on "Computer", select "Properties", then click "Device Manager" in the upper left hand corner.

Open the bit that says "CD/DVD Drives" and try right clicking on the drives there and selecting "Update Driver Software". This will probably do nothing. Don't worry, I didnt really expect it to. Now right click on the drives, and select "Delete" and then reboot. This will reset the drivers for ya.

This fix usually DOES work. Most of the time. If it doesnt work, try the ones below.

I bought a new Lenovo pc with Window Vista.

If its windows media player that isn't playing the dvd's then you'll need to go here and get the latest version of windows media player and also get the latest codecs.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/mediaplayer/default.mspx

If you have a different dvd player that came with your laptop, then use the other dvd software and see if you can play your dvd that way.
