hello there ,a very simple solution to this problem remove rear covering and circuit board you will notice the mic anylise it for wire breakage or dry solder joint iff you have a replacement mic you can replace it ,if this fails its more than likely your audio chip has given up ,its best to leave it to someone with expertise goodluck ei5glb
Typically, this type of handheld has a useful range of approximately 1-2 miles. This distance will be increased with other radios being mobiles and base stations. Distances of 5 miles is possible if the other person has a good base station antenna. I would not expect much from the stock rubber ducky antenna.
If the antenna is broke, then you should just get a new antenna. If the antenna connector was pulled out of the radio, it is usually fixable.
If the connector is broke off the antenna, it may may be fixable, I would have to see it. If its done wrong, you could hurt the transmit section of the radio.
you can get that charger aftermarket at radio shack take the walkie with you to get the right power supply the voltage should be close to where the external power plug goes into the radio.
sounds like you are getting a feedback squeal.. try taking a wire and attaching to you handheld and grounding it to something.. that might work.. i know i have to have my mic on my cb grounded to my radio or i get a feedback squeal...
