Question about HP Photosmart C6280 Printer

NEW HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One on Vista - Error Printing

Hello, I have a new HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One running on Vista. Today it decided to simply stop printing it is in a non usb 2, 4 port hub with other devices plugged in via a usb extensino cord to a usb 2 port in my computer.

Any ideas? it gives a Error - Printing message in the computers print properties.

    Hello I have tried deleting the USB Support in Device Manager, it has copied the printer i.e Copy 3 in printers folder and still is unable to print.

    I have deleted unprinted docs and deleted the printer and 2 copies from printers folder. I Haev used the wizard to install the printer again and now when I hit print it does not show any jobs in teh print properies box. zero jobs pending

    It has duplicated a few more usb ports that I think i need. Can I send a doc with screen dump?

    Hmm..? it is connected directly to the computer

Have u tried reinstalling the drivers..use the one given aong with the Vista cd...and for help use this link

Hello,

Please unistall the old drivers and then download update drivers from the manufacturers website and install. or REstore your system backward from the dates where the printer working properly.

Plug the printer directly to the PC..dont use the hub, especially if you are sharing it with devices you are using..

The error message “ Printer not activated – Error Code 20 ” is displayed on the computer when printing. Before proceeding to the solution, please verify that the printer or all-in-one is working by printing a self-test page and also verify USB connectivity from the printer to the computer. Solution Step one: Make sure the desired printer is set as the default printer

  1. Click Start and then click Printers and Faxes to open the Printers folder.
  2. If the desired printer icon is missing, please go to Step two.
  3. Make sure the desired printer has a check mark next to it which indicates it is set as the default printer.
  4. If the desired printer does not have a check mark next to it, right-click the printer icon and then click “ Set as Default Printer ”.
  5. Right-click the printer icon, and then click Print Test Page to print a Windows self-test page.
  6. If the Windows test page prints successfully, close all windows and try printing from the application you were using before.
  7. If the Windows test-page does not print, go to Step two.
Step two: Re-install the USB Composite Device from Device Manager
  1. Click Start and then Run .
  2. Type devmgmt.msc in the Run window and then press Enter to open the Device Manager Window.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  4. Right click USB Composite Device , click Uninstall , and then click OK .
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and then reconnect it.
  6. Follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware wizard to install the drivers.
  7. Right-click the printer icon, and then click Print Test Page to print a Windows self-test page.
  8. Close all windows and try printing from the application you were using before.
Step three: Reinstall the HP Software If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please uninstall and reinstall the HP software. Cause The error may be caused if the wrong printer is set as the default printer, the printer driver is missing, or if there are conflicts in the device manager.

1 Check cartridges, eventually remove and plug back in cartridges.
2 Inspect pinter for small pieces of paper or foreign objects.
3 disconnect usb from hub and plug it directly to the PC on a different usb port.

If the above does not fix it do the following procedure:

Unplug printer from usb
Go to printers under control panel and remove printer, chose remove all driver files if asked.
Reinstall drivers from disk or let Vista reinstall drivers automatically. If you reinstall from disk you must chose 'run the program as administrator' under vista, or it won't work.
Connect printer only when required by program if installing from disk.

    Well, do not play with your system properties and device manager if you are not sure about what you where doing.
    You have three installed printer, and probably some non working usb driver, because you removed the usb root hub from installed devices, and you reinstall it with usb plugged in.
    Now remove the three printer copies that had been installed, and check on installed device that you do not have any yellow mark on USB drivers, if you have some remove correspondent device and start computer with no additional usb devices installed, then let windows install drivers by itself.
    Once you fix eventual usb problems, just follow the standard reinstall drivers procedure in my previous post.
    If reinstalling drivers does not fix it, it is probably a fault with the printer, in this case possibly test the printer on a different computer, if it still does not work it is faulty.

Plz try by directly connecting the printer to usb port, if the problem is not solved, plz go to device manager and uninstall the usb printing support from the usb list then click on the new hardware found in the menu bar.If still the problem is not solved then try by reinstalling the drivers and try with new usb cable

Whats the error message and can you try the printer directly connected into your computer?

Also check what your computer says in the printer status -> start -> printers and faxes -> your printer.

If "[Color name] Toner Empty. Replace with a new toner cartridge." is displayed and printing stops, replace with a new toner cartridge.

BROTHER P-TOUCH IS not printing


It is obvious it has a failed electronic component, since these are not repaired/exchanged except when they are under warranty best thing to do is just replace it.

How do I correct error h5 on a Sharp printer AR-5620N?

The error code H5 means there was at least 5 pages in a row where the paper did not come out of the printer correctly (most likely paper jams. The following manual will direct you on the steps needed to clear the code, please note especially page #8-3

My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Laser printer makes light clicking noise when idle


When idle is potentially the fuser unit, after heating and cooling. However the print quality issue associated with the clicking sound could indicate an electrical issue. The HVPS maybe faulty causing the print quality issue (due to dependant parts) and the electrical click. In any case I would recommend calling Brother and finding the nearest authorised service agent.

How does the bulb look? Is it bright or kind of dim. The bulb warming error is designed to halt use of the machine until the scanner bulb reaches the correct output level. As these are basically a flourescent tube, they will dim over time and at a certain point they will not generate enough light to enable proper scanning. If the bulb is dim, it will require replacement.

Vista OEM Cd usually doesnt come with drivers.

Printer should have come with its own cd which contains both the software & drivers.

or

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
