my rca 2002 rtdvd1 player only plays ntsc format. I can unlock any codes so it will play PAL?

Unless it's built into the settings but most players designed for NTSC will only play NTSC. Those made for PAL will play PAL.

Theres too many radical changes in video signals to make one device handle both formats.
