It may be helpful to know that the year of manufacture of this Mitsubishi TV set, Model Number CS-2653R, is 1987. Also, the TV Remote Control Model # is 939P192020, which is the same as the Remote Control Part #.

Unfortunately, I do not have the owner's manual for this Mitsubishi TV, Model # CS-2653R. I have searched numerous web sites in order to obtain a copy of the owner's manual, but I could not find any available. If I had the owner's manual, I'm sure that would provide the information I need.

In answer to your question, no I am not trying to set up the vblock for this TV set. I don't think vblock was even available in TV sets manufactured in 1987.

All I want to do is unblock channels that were previously blocked because the channels were unused at that time.

  • jollybob Jul 06, 2008

That's correct, I'm trying to (as you say) "unskip" channels that were previously programmed to be "skipped" and therefore unavailable.

Thanks for your efforts, Robotek. Take as much time as you need. This is not an emergency.

I have come up empty handed also. Used to setup these units all the time, but without the controls in front of me, struggling to remember how to do it. I take it you are attempting to "unskip" channels whilst setting up presets?

Mitsubishi CS-31505 TV - UN-memorize QV (Quick View) Channel?

I've learned from a Mitsu tech that there is indeed NO easy (nor logical & user-friendly) way to UN-memorize a QV channel.

However there IS a work-around to accomplish that so that the QV will revert back to its Factory Setting of "Last Channel Recall."

Using the Mitsu remote control:

1. Poke the Menu button.
2. On the Menu, select the "Add/Delete Channels."
3. Select the Antenna (A or B or whichever) and select the channel which was memorized in QV.
4. When that memorized channel number appears, select "Delete."
5. Poke the Menu button again to exit.

The QV memorized channel number is now gone, restoring the QV function to "Last Channel Recall."

NOTE: If that particular deleted memorized channel was also included among the SQV (Super Quick View) channels, it can then be added back into SQV using the Menu and SQV option.

Hope the above helps those who have encountered the same issue.

Hopefully you still have the remote.

On Remote, hold the Q.V. button down and press the number 9. That will bypass the lock

Then press the menu button on the remote - go to Advanced features, select Parental Lock - it should sho as on, hold the Q.V. button doown and press the 9 button again, and you will turn the lock off

Blocked Channels

Look for a reset to default feature in the settings of the TV. That should release the unblock feature and should pick up all channels during the scan.

Poor reception

It sounds like a problem with the tuner in the TV set. Hook up a VCR through the video inputs and hook the cable through the VCR and if the picture is still snowy, the problem is the cable. If the picture is clear, the problem is the tuner in the TV set. If you wanted, you could simply leave the VCR attached to the TV set and change cable channels through the VCR, or have the TV serviced. Good Luck

Sorry to be the one to inform you Sheri, but this set is known to have several bad capacitors in the sweep as well as the power supply. Unless you have an ESR type capacitor checker, your going to have to take it in for service, by a pro. Hope yopu did'nt pay to much for it. Good Luck
