Question about Philips GoGear Flash MP3 Player

1 Answer

Will not play songs in ALBUM order

I load complete albums on my player; when selecting artist, title, etc songs play alphabetically (as designed). BUT, when I select album, the songs should play in correct album order (according to owners manual) but instead they play alphabetically too. Does everyone's do this? It sucks.

I have exactly the same problem.  I have downloaded the latest Frimware, and tried syncing with both Realplayer and Windows Media Player (both of which display the tracks in the correct order) but no joy!

Yes, this player is naturally alphabetical, but you can re-edit the track #'s in the id3 tag, and then retransfer the song to the goGear - should work

My player (sansa clip 2gb)won't read tags (artist, album ...)

You check your songs from your computer first; Right click on one of songs, select Properties, select Summary tab (check Artist, Album Title, and Title). If they are there, you should update new firmware (search SANDISK FORUM from google). If they are empty, it's right for device display the filename.

When I rip a CD onto Windows Media Player, it comes out, 1. 2. .3 ...10. How Can You get the songs to be printed instead of numbers representing the songs.

Before you select to rip the songs, edit them by renaming them - song - artist - album etc... then rip the music. Right click and select edit, then rename, press the tab key to go to the next selection artist etc.. and rename. You can also rip the music then go online to let media player find the details, but they do not always find the right details for the correct albums, so I always rename my albums myself

I hope this helps

Insignia sport 4 gig wont organize by artist

You will need to right click on the song file to see if the ID3 information is present.

Right-click, Properties, Summary tab.

You shoudl see a list of fields that you can populate manually, or you can try loading your audio files into a media manger program like iTunes, Media Monkey, WMP, etc and insure your song titles and album names are correct in the ID3 tag fields. Then, your files will appear correctly on your player.

Hope this helps!
