Just fitted a new belt to my dryer now it wont turn have checked for any loose wires

Are you sure you have the belt on correctly? When you start it does the motor run or try to run? Does it hum or buzz when trying to start? Take the belt off & start it see if the motor runs if it does check if drum, belt and idler pully are installed correctly.
Check the drum rollers and drum glides be sure the drum turns ok. Be sure everything is installed correctly & turns OK . Are you getting power? Hard to tell what is wrong without much information about what is going on. You might check the front panel & see if it is binding on the drum not letting it turn. Hope there's something here that will help you.

Motor spinnig freely when trying to start like no compression in motor and wont start after timing belt was fitted wrong in a 1995 toyota landcruiser

if belt was not put on properly car wont run. if its improperly timed valves are opening and closing when they shouldnt be. which inturn will not ,ix air gas and timing spark. when belt is on wrong it will seem like no compression because valves are improperly working. belt must be put on the rite way for your car to run.

When the serpentine belt is off the engine starts with the belt motor turns but drags and wont start the motor shakes and acts a miss took the alt.had it checked it was fine so my ? Is why would it start...

You need to check all the pulley's to see if one is not turning freely. If one of the pulley's is locked up that will cause the dragging you mention. If they all spin by hand, they all should.

Air compresor Craftsman 921.153101 it spound like is one but it wont run at all. It sounds like the motor is stuck

if its belt driven ,unplug it(safety first)remove the belt and try to turn the pump by hand.if the pump turn plug it back without the belt. and try it .if the motor doesnt run.check the contacts on your pressure switch.if they are ok and try again.if not you need a new motor.if the motor ,the pressure switch contacts,and the pump are fine.put the belt back back on bleed your tank to zero with an air gun and try to run it.if it work well till it cuts of check if your bleeder release air.you might have pressure stuck in your pump.the compressor needs to release pressure for a soft start.hope this help!

Heats but wont spin

Can you hear the motor running when it is supposed to? If so, the belt has either broken, the belt tensioner spring has broken or come off, or the belt has come off of the motor pulley. If you hear humming, but no motor running, the motor start capacitor is likely bad and should be replaced.

My druer is heating but the drum wont spin

either the motor is defective or the drum belt is broken or off the pulleys, if you can't hear the motor start and run w/o belt attached and it just buzzes the motor start cap could be bad

I hit start after bulky bedding and machine wont start and then the delay signal goes on then the "f" for finish.

Drive Motor Tachometer Error

The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.

Potential Causes:

* Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU)
* Check the Drive Motor
* Check the MCU
* Check the Wire Harness
begin troubleshooting right at the motor. Why start there? Because the motor is one of the prime suspects and it's easy to check. Remove the back panel and unwind the belt from the drum pulley. Now turn the motor pulley (sans belt) by hand. If it doesn't turn smoothly and easily, you have a bad motor.

If the motor pulley turns smoothly and easily by hand, next step is to run the motor with the belt still removed from the motor pulley. If the motor seems to run fine that way, put the belt back on and run it again. If the motor won't run under load (with the belt on), then that's another sign that the motor is bad.

Suppose the motor turns easily and freely by hand but won't run either with or without the belt. This is a more subtle condition because we're probably dealing with a bad MCU or flakey wire harness somewhere between the motor and MCU, or between the MCU and the CCU.

One trick that often works at this point is to remove and reinsert all wire connections at the board and motor. This tends to clean the small amount of corrosion that will build up on the connections. After you do this put the machine into a service cycle (see the instructions in the tech sheet found inside the unit or you can ). Part of the service cycle is running the motor at certain set speeds which checks the tach.

If you've removed/reinserted the wire harnesses and still no joy, then usually the problem is the MCU.

Motor shaft wont turn on EL2050

Have you tried running the brush motor without a belt on it? Does it not spin without the belt? If so, you may have worn motor brushes (not too expensive parts, but make sure you order both brushes, or make sure they are sold as a set). If your motor is in good condition (you can check the brush motor by hooking it up to a momentary power source NEVER apply constant power to a motor that is not mounted to either the machine or something to keep it from running away) There is sometimes a switch down towards the brush head assembly that could be bad.

Dryer will not move but power good

Motor If the dryer motor only hums when you press the Start button, the motor may be burned out. Here's how to test the dryer motor:

  • Remove the belt.

  • Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing.

  • Manually rotate the shaft of the motor.

If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor.

If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers or pulley, and then reassemble the dryer and try it again.

If the motor hums but doesn't rotate on its own even with the belt removed--yet you can turn it freely by hand--you usually need to replace the motor or the motor start capacitor.
