My Optoma HD72 projector shows vertical white lines variously dashed and dotted across the entire display. This covers the whole display even outside the screen on which the DVD is being displayed and is not affected by keystone corrections or display modes. On one occasion the lines disappeared after about 30 seconds but now they are on all the time. I also had the lamp controller problem where the lamp goes off after some 20 seconds when the projector was about 1 year and 4 months old. It however went away after a week or so and worked for 7 months without further problem. Now this has reappeared and once again the lamp is staying on but with the lines!! I am probably just out of warranty now is it worth repaiiring this unit where, based on other owners reports, the lamp controller problem is liekly to recur?

I have the same problem and am probably just out of warranty also. Vertical white lines across entire screen.

I have the same problem. I replaced my lamp module because it would go out after about 20 to 30 seconds. after replacing the lamp module I had vertical lines across the entire screen. I then put the old lamp module back in and still had vertical lines that were not there prior to replacing the lamp module. Very disappointed due to being out of warranty by about 2 months.

There is a white line in the top 1/8th of the projection. It is solid and about 1/18th in size relative to the screen. it has multi colors continuously flashing in it.

That is a pixel line, they can go defective vertical or horizontal. Bad connection possibly due to impact, stress or manufacturing flaw. The DLP image generator driver board or DMD chip is so complex, small and delicate that any repair would most likely be expensive and involve very precise tools and some electronics experience. If you get inside it OK make sure the DMD chip is snug into all contacts. It is possible you might need the 8060-6038b chip available on Ebay.

Optoma RD-50 DLP has dark vertical shadow on right side of screen

turning off the main can be very harmful to rear projectors if you dont wait for the cooling off period, for instance when you turn off the tv from the remote, the fans inside are still on in order to dissipate the heat given out by the lamp. as a result some of the lens inside the engine may have burns-in caused by excess of heat.thus leading to shadows on the screen.

hope this helps

Have your projector professionally cleaned. It is dust in the inside optics. You should not attempt unless you are very skilled. if you are going to do this yourself have a lot of compressed air on hand.

Vertical lines

The red line in the crt is the sreen voltage is to high or bad tube.
A simple fix is if you take off the front panel there will be a black box be careful it is high voltage make sure you are a pro.
there will be six controls look for the one marked screen and is for red tube adjust very slightly counter clockwise.until red
line gos away. If that does not fix it its the red tube.

I hope this helps doctor video
