My facebook chat is not working properly. The things I type on chat reach my frnds very late and sometimes many copies of the same line are sent. My friends say that I keep on going offline from online and vice versa repeatedly. Please help

The chat works like email or IM, so unfortunately once you've sent, there is no way to unsend it. You can try selecting the message thread in Messages and report it, then explain your situation and hope they'll help you.
you can complaint about your chat problem on facebook help center.. you can type your complaint there and kind of error when you trying to chat.... or you can try to open facebook through any other browser....
sometime facebook disable your chats.. just talk to them they will resume your chat services

Sometimes facebook just doesn't work perfectly. If this issue just suddenly happened and hasn't been a problem for long then don't worry! It should fix itself. Facebook has been working on the chat interface lately.
Chat is also type of message which can you show in your message box.you can't see private message sent by your friend because they not sent you yet.if you want to remove your chat messages than open that message and you can see action button above message go through it you find their delete button.cheers...
its very simple just open internet browser and in the menus tab click on work offline and enter the facebook account the chats reappear because ur frnds constantly sends u messages if hes offline the chats bar wont appear was this useful to u pls vote for me if u like it

First the message is received at the destination is indication of sucessful submission. An indication of application offline unless were in relation to the message sent is ok since persons may have disconnected. Also, the facebook chats allows to store the message as sent during the entities absence until available on the network to display what was sent.

Sometimes you really have to press enter twice on facebook's chat. By pressing enter would either move you to the next line or send the message that you have typed in. It often happens when the connection becomes slow or you have many friends that your chatting with.

Consider switching browsers, I've never had this problem with Google's Chrome or the latest version of Firefox.
Alternatively, consider using a Facebook Chat Messenger such as Chit Chat for Facebook that allows you to talk to talk on Facebook without your internet browser. Moreover, its tabbed instant message window allows you to see who has sent you an instant message whilst your typing to someone else - without swapping over to that new Facebook Chat message!
