My ps2 is reading pyrated disks but with cover and not the written one in DVD-R..PLEASE I WANT HELP...

u can use the pyrated cds if u know whatever happen to your ps3 will be corrected by viewing this site and knowing how to correct it..then what enjoy using all check this

Ps2's and Ps3's have separate readers for Dvd/Cd and games. Your game disk reader is likely broken or covered with something that prevents it from reading. Or, your "legal game reader" is broken and can't read the Ps2 certified bands on the disk. Yes, such a device exists to prevent copying and selling games.

get ur ps2 modded then u can play pirated/burned games.

try to wipe the rock band cd with a dvd cleaner found at computer stores and attempt at it again, if doesn't work try to find if the problem is within the ps2 not the cd try to indicate the what's wrong with the ps2. Then repost here.

Is it all of your disks or just that one? If it is just one disk then you should try and clean the disk. If it is all of the disks then you may have a dirty laser eye and need to get a dvd cleaner, I personally recommend the phillips brand dvd cleaning kit. It should be a disk cleaner and a cd/dvd cleaning system for the laser eye. It usually runs under 15 dollars. If this doesnt work then your system is shot and you should replace it.

By formatting a disk, your actually creating a Blank-Disk.

The PS2 won,t read a blank disk.

is your console Saying " disk format Unknown "

This is a completely different Issue.

In this case, the PS2 does not play this type of Disk.

Check your disk for scratches fingerprints ect,,
if thats all good step two
try useing a lens cleaner


****(( tip and trick for scratched disks ))****
a crayon rubbed on the disk then wiped off with a lint free cloth
no t-shirts dish towels that will just add more scratches
remember start at the center wipeing out to the edge.

if none of that works you may have a lens problem

What you probably have is a disc read error, if you don't want to get a new system first you can always open it and repair yourself but that voids the warranty but is voided after the 30th day, I have tried it a few times in the past and it works but is time consuming and if your not careful you can break it beyond use. If this is a rental copy the most likely answer is simply that the disk is scratched or damaged to the point that your PS2 can't read it. With rental games you also need to double check that store staff placed the correct disk in the box, have a look at the disk an ensure it is not an XBox copy. This message would normally suggest however that the copy you have is not from the same region as you're PS2, if you have a US PS2 it will only play US PS2 games, if you have a UK PS2 it will only play UK PS2 games Etc. you cannot play UK games on a US PS2 and vice versa unless your PS2 is fitted with a 'mod chip' and you will usually require a 'swap disk' as well. **be sure you understand the copyright issues involved if you decide to pursue this** Another possibility is that it is a DVD R, not a legitimate disk, without a 'mod chip' your PS2 will not read games written to DVD R/RW (and doing so is most definitely illegal regardless what those to cheap to pay for there games will tell you about "backups").
