Help Vista ruined!

I was updating my computer and my computer spontaneously shut down in the middle of the update. Argh! Now it won't load. It goes to this back screen and all of these drivers start loading and then it gets stuck on solitaire and never loads. Any advice? Any awesome fixes out there?

Never upgrade witout backing up your system you never know what's going to happen.

Only way I can tell you to try is

1 Switch your pc on
2 now start pressing F8

this will take to to screen where it says boot normal, safemode ect

3 click on BEST LAST CONFIGERATION KNOWN

What I would do is plug the laptop into an electrical outlet and give the machine a chance to recharge, then try to boot up. That should fix the problem. A word of advice if I may. You should never do any heavy downloading (such as system updates) while running off the battery. It really tends to drain it and, as you've found out, the machine could die in the middle of doing a system update. The battery should be fine, just let it recharge. Good luck!

Vista Update Stage 3 Stall……

You see Installing Updates Stage 3 of 3... 0% in Vista after you start or restart your computer and it never goes past 0%. Rebooting the computer doesn't change it. It still boots to Installing Windows updates 3 of 3 and never goes past that 0% mark. Sometimes Windows will even reboot in some cases. I have found that this often happens after Windows updates. I have no idea why, but this seems to be a fairly common occurrence. The last one I repaired was caused by a Service pack 1 installation.

Here's what I have done to fix the 3 of 3 error.

You will be doing a System Restore from the Vista f8 startup

Since the computer your working on is probably stuck on this screen the first step will be a hard shut down.

Hold the power button down until the computer shuts down.

Restart the computer.

Tap the f8 key about once or twice per second to get the Safe mode screen to come up.

In Windows Vista there is a new choice when the safe mode selection comes up. "Repair Your Computer"

Highlight the "Repair Your Computer" choice.

Windows will act like it is going t boot up.

You will see a System Recovery Options window.

It will ask you to choose your language.

Click Next

Select your user and put in your password. (leave blank if you don't have a password)

You should now have choices and the one you want is "System Restore"

Follow through the prompts with the Vista System Restore program.

Remember you should pick a restore point that is 1 or 2 points back.

Once you have completed the system restore process you will be asked to restart your computer. Go ahead and restart the computer. It should start correctly at this point. If you don't have a restore point available you may not be able to repair this error. I have not tried to repair one of these without a restore point yet.

Acer Aspire 5735Z - Vista Home Prem. shutdown hang

updates can be slow, and lead to more updates sometimes.you should goto windows update, let it search for important updates then install them.even if it takes a while, once you do that it should be fine.and configure updates to auto download but ask to install.

Dell Vostro 1500 won't boot after downloading updates

What programs are installed on the machine? there may be a file that's conflicting with one of the updates. You may leave automatic updates turned off. Looking for the culprit will require and will be easier if a tech will check the computer onsite or thru remote access.

CANNOT WATCH MY EPISODES ON ABC

You can try two things here:
1. Run windows update to make sure you have all the latest updates for Internet Explorer.
2. Download Mozilla Firefox from www.mozilla.com and see if that browser will play them. I had a computer once with Vista that would not play Youtube videos at all, no matter what I did, but I downloaded Firefox and it works perfectly. Vista can be strange sometimes. Good luck.
