Same problem just happened to me.

Its is a very hot and humid day, I had a paper jam in the fuser unit. I got the paper out and put the fuser back in. There seems to be one blue lever that will fall into place. I am it has something to do with this.

    Has anyone found an answer.

We had the same problem. I loosened the levers that hold the fuser in place, and the one on the left side (as you face the printer) came out. When I put it back in, it didn't click into place all the way and the error message came up. I pushed down slightly on the fuser, then pushed the lever toward the back of the unit about as hard as I dared until it clicked back into place. That locked the fuser into place properly and resolved the problem.

Ditto ... was able to get the blue lever to properly engage.

The pivot point for the left side blue lever (inside fuser housing) broke off allowing blue lever to be completely removed ... probably not what the engineers had in mind.

I tried david927 approach, but with too much resistance and not wanting to snap the blue lever, I almost gave up. My solution ended up being (with fuser seated) lifting ever so slightly on the blue lever and it engaged its slot in the printer body and seated properly and successful test print ensued.

FYI ... the lever snapped into place with very little resistance ... ~ 1lbs. of effort. My advice would be that if you are meeting more than the weight of your cup of coffee in resistance, you may want to back off and retry.

50.1 Fuser error:Low/No Fuser tempatrature, replace Fuser assembly.
For service engineers: Reason: thermo switch open, remove fuser assembly, dis-assemble up sleeve, check switch continuity, if no continuity, remove switch & just hit gently on aluminum capsule till continuity comes, make sure it should not damage or dent, once continuity comes, clean main thermister & sub thermister, fix it back, power on the printer, chek errors, adjust fuser temperature in low, give prints up to 50 blank copies, chk.. if problem repeated replace Fuser assembly, but success rate is 70% for above exercise. Note: Only professionals can perform this activity..

My Dell 3110 Colour Laser Printer comes up with the following message - Reseat Fuser Contact Support 010 - 390 Restart printer

There's not much on the web about this error message, but it does say to reseat the fuser. I found a writeup (with a picture) on how to do this.

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/p/19309114/19606748.aspx

Make sure that your printer is unplugged while you do this, also be aware that the fuser gets quite hot while it's printing and stays hot for a few minutes afterwards. Don't burn yourself! While the fuser is out you may want to blow out the dust from the printer with a can of compressed air.

If reseating the fuser doesn't get rid of the error message call Dell technical support at 1-877-293-1197.

Hope this helps

Please rate this solution, thanks!

We keep getting the following message - restart printer reseat fuser

The "fuser" uses heat to melt the toner-ink onto the paper, to "fix" the ink to the paper.

Open the printer, remove the cartridge, and make sure that the fuser is _exactly_ "seated" into its socket. Replace the cartridge, and try againn.

Otherwise, take the printer to a qualified technician.

ERROR CODE 010-387 RESEAT FUSER

I had the same exact issue with my 5110cn printer. It turned out that the 5100 fuser is wrong for this printer and will not work. The 5110 has a circuit board on the inside and the 5100 fuser does not. Dell item number KX491 with a BCN # of 652423 works perfectly.

Hope this helps!

RESEAT FUSER

Hi G,

99% of the time the error is the fuser. Either it is damaged, or just not locked in place, and with power off, reseating it will fix the error. Since you just replaced the fuser, I guess the question is did you do it because it was also giving this error, or because it reached EOL ( end of life ).

If it was for EOL message, I would try reinstalling it. If the "reseat fuser" error goes away, but comes back with the new fuser again, then the new fuser you purchased is defective and should be returned or exchanged.

See the information below to correctly troubleshoot your issue.

The following steps are the troubleshooting steps that should be followed for error code 010 397.
First, the definition of the failure is <IOT Fuser Failure>, and means a Fuser Error is detected.

1) With power off, reseat the fuser by physically removing it from the printer, then reinstalling it and locking it in place. Turn the power back on. ( if the error is still present, proceed to step 2 ).

2) If reseating the fuser did not resolve the problem, Replace the fuser with a known good fuser.
( if problem is not resolved, proceed to step 3)

3) Replace the LVPS ( low voltage power supply ). ( if problem not resolved, proceed to step 4 ).

4) Replace the PWBA MCU ( printed wiring board assembly - machine control unit ).

END of troubleshooting.........

In most cases, the fuser itself is the problem. If you tried to reseat or replace the fuser while power was still on, the LVPS could have been damaged just as if there were an electrical storm.

Hopefully this helped.

Will not restart 010-397 states restart printer

I had same problem and called Dell- The 010 errors are all related to the fuser (the thing at the top rear of the 3100) All they had me do was open the rear top cover, pull the outer blue clips and "unplug" or remove and reinstall the fuser. That cleared the error.
