With laptop's that lack smart battery technology, If you dont excersize your cells you lose their capacity. Smart Battery Tech. forces the cells to discharge their energy on their own after being hot for so long they just cut off the power being supplied to them and discharge back down to less then 10% charge, then they recharge.
Think of it this way, what happens if you dont excersize, you let yourself get fat and lazy. Chances are good you will die quicker then the guy that does. Same goes for the cells of the battery.

  1. Also please note If the battery is the one that came originally with the system, they never have a long lasting capacity to start off with unless of course you pay for the longer life battery you tend to get maybe an hour and a half. Also if you are covered under the warranty period still most manufacturers allw you at least 1 battery replacement. Hope all that helps you!

There may not be a problem. 'No Device' usually just means that nothing has been paired with your laptop. Open up your Bluetooth settings and click 'Add Device' or 'Setup Device' or whatever, and follow the instructions.

Need to remove the cd/dvd drive in my acer aspire 5040. can anyone help with a link to a service manual or video etc...

Normally there is one screw (at the back of the cd drive) that has to be removed either from the bottom of the laptop or in some cases it is under the keyboard.

Then open the cd drive using a paper clip and pull the drive all the way out. Grab the side rails and gently wiggle back and forth while pulling on the drive.

Hope this helps

You did not excersize your cells so they died. When you get a new battery remember to either leave it plugged in for only an hour or two to charge and then unplug it. You fried your brain cells dude!

Your battery has gone bad. You just need to purchase another battery. When you get it in, charge it completely first and you'll find that you'll have your original time left.

It can be purchased here.
