Your battery has gone bad. You just need to purchase another battery. When you get it in, charge it completely first and you'll find that you'll have your original time left.

It can be purchased here.

Cmos settings for acer aspire m5641

to reset the cmos you only need to take the small round battery off the board for a few minutes. if your laptop is not keeping time then you need a new battery on the board. ( you will find you cant get on websites when your laptop has the wrong time on as its a security risk ) to enter the bios ( which i would not if i didnt know what i was doing ) turn off laptop/press power button to turn it on/keep pressing F2 while its booting up ..but be careful in there

1. Shutdown and Unplug your laptop.
2. Remove the battery from the laptop.

My Acer Aspire will not boot up after installing updates. Updates were installed computer rebooted then froze, could not switch it off only by pulling the plug on the electricity. Computer will not start...

If the laptop is not under warranty: Remove RAM and Re-Mount It.. Then Remove CMOS Battery and Remount after few minutes... Try to Boot Up.. if works ok.. else contact nearest acer Service Point...

If your Laptop is Under Warranty: Send to Nearest Acer Authorised Service Center.. Don't Do anything yourself..

Computer Shuts Down By Itself

It sounds like the heads that read your hard drive are deteriorating. If you have data that you need on the hard drive hook it up as a slave drive to another computer and save your data now. Because eventually you will no longer be able to access any data on the drive. Then you will have to send it to one of those data recovery places that use clean rooms to recover your data. That will be very expensive.

Or you might have a bad sector in bios. In that case, I am not sure what to do.

Sudden rebooting after 15 minutes of use

Hello,
several things can be the cause:
Be careful when opening pc with power cord plugged in.
Dangerous voltage which can cause death or severe injuries exists inside pc. If you are not
familiar with handling electricity thye save way DO NOT OPEN THE PC!
1. Is the desktop free standing or in a cabinet or closet? (Overheating?)
1. check for accumulated dust inside the pc. (REMOVE POWER PLUG BEFORE OPENING)
2. check if all fans work.
3. reseat memory chips/cpu and plugs (REMOVE POWER PLUG BEFORE OPENING, ANTI STATIC MESURES MUST BE TAKEN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS)

Let me know...

Greetings, Matt

I have acer aspire 5040 Laptop computer and when i start it up it won't boot into windows as it has light blue screen and asks me to press F1 and shows resource Conflict pci on motherboard Bus 06 Device 06...

Re-install windows, then it will ask you for the Restore disk 1 then 2 then 3. I think the Ghost that is factory installed is a fars.
If it doesnt ask you for the Restore disks - just stick # 1 in and she'll tale over from there and re-write the Ghost issue again ...
I did that same for my Boss's 5040 last week. Dont forget to go into the Bios and reset the Boot sequense to CD Rom, and then
change the Booting sequense back after the restore has taken place.

Give it a shot Bud.
