ps2 games are ment to be only played at ps2 and ps3 games are only ment to be played at ps3.
even though you might think that ps3 is a higher version of ps2 so ps3 should play the old games but its not like that.
when a ps2 game is developed, it is made to only run on a ps2 platform and nothing else. its programed in such a way, that is why it will not run in a ps3 platform. its the same thing l;ike you cannot play a XBOX360 game on a ps3 platform cause the game company has made it not to run on other consoles. hope it solves your problem.
Purely and Simply, you need faster internet! Gaming often takes a connection of 10MBPS or greater for the best results. Try not to use wireless for online gaming. Try getting an Ethernet cord and connecting that to your PS3, it's actually must faster.
It seems like the mod-chip is not letting DNAS clarify the load. Don't use the mod chip man, I play SOCOM Online and I hate it when people use those...just play fair. It will work if you don't use the mod chip.
The newer versions of the ps3 are not ps2 compatible..if you had 4 hook ups, then you would have the 'reversible' version. So long story short...no, you may not play ps2 games on your system. hope this helps, i know it sucks.... I was disappointed as well... please rate me... thanks a lot.
