Question about Audio & Video Receivers
I'm begging you to help me with this strange "P" flashing that freezes the receiver. Then, when i turn it off, the surround light is flashing again with a click kinda noise. Thanks!!
I have the same receiver and i also have the same problem,
this happens when i turn the volume or the bass too loud.
it suddenly clicks and the sound cuts off. then the flashing red P appears.
My solution: As soon as it happens, quickly press the power button twice (turn off, turn back on)
and turn the volume knob all the way down. wait 2-3 seconds and it will click back to normal.
If you take too long before turning off the receiver when the P appears it will not work.
In this case you have to unplug the power cord and let it rest for at least 20 mins then plug it back in.
hope this helps!
ps: I've been using this receiver for mure than 8 years so i'm quite used to it!

a phillips head screwdriver
unplug unit and discharge any static electricity.
remove the metal grill/cover to expose the internals.
there's a cord that is connected to the LED display with a screw, tighten said screw.
this should fix your problem

I have the same model and had the identical problem. If you can take it to an audio tech it is a simple fix...there is a bad solder joint/joints that is causing the unit to go in to protection mode. He just had to reflow the solder on the offending part/parts. If you like the receiver, the fix may be worth it....mine was well under a hundred bucks. Hope this helps!
