Hi lafy22

First thing to do when this happens is to do a disconnect the amp from the wall socket for at least 30 mins. This will do a hard reset for the unit. Then fire it up again and see if it is still non functioning.
If this does not help, then the amp has developed an internal fault and will need some electronic repairs done.
I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, please get back to me here, or use the ASK function to go straight to me :) If you are still unsure, have problems, or we need to look at the situation more deeply, then before you give a rating for this advice, hit the ASK button Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Cheers.

FIND THE CODE TO GET RID OF THE WORD PROTECT ON MY JVC RECEIVER

Protect is displayed because there's a problem with your speaker wiring or there's a speaker shorted out. It's not there to tick you off for some reason.

So, you don't need a code. What you need to do is go sort out your wiring because somewhere there's two cables touching and the amp is trying to save itself from blowing up because you wired something wrong.

I have a jvc mx-c330 bookshelf home stereo in the middle of listening to music the band e.q. changes on its own. do i need to set something as far as memory or what .

There is a demo button. When it's plugged in the first time, or with a power loss, it reverts to that mode. Hit the demo button and it goes away. =)
