Look at the memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Camera saying memory card locked slide lock write psition

The Nikon N75 is a film camera. It doesn't use a memory card at all.

If you're referring to some other digital camera that does use an SD/SDHC card, look at the memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Memory card stuck in powershot sx130 iscamera

To get the card out. push it down and you'll hear a click and then it will pop up. Check the slide switch on the card to see if it's locked which "might" be causing the error.

My memory card is write protected. when i turn on camera the screen is saying it is write protected, i can't take pictures or delete pictures

Hi. Thanks for your question.

SOLUTION 1 - Unlock the memory card.

There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.

NOTE: If you are using a microSD/microSDHC card or a miniSD/miniSDHC card, insert the card into the standard SD adapter.

SOLUTION 2 - Toggle the lock switch.

If the lock switch is not on lock:
1. Slide the switch up and down. Repeat this 3 times.
2. Let it stay on the Lock position for 30 seconds.
3. Slide the switch up to unlock the card.
4. Try to transfer files into the device.

Memery card locked moved tab on the side

If this is occurring with multiple cards, or is saying "card locked" even though the tiny slide switch is in the unlocked position, then see this post for another possible remedy.

On vacation, removed the photo card and it now says LOCKED. HELP

Hi!

If you are using an SD or MMC card, check if the lock button (on the side of the card - a tiny plastic that you can slide) is on the LOCK position. Slide it to UNLOCK position. If it's already in UNLOCK position, slide it to LOCK , then UNLOCK position.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Locked memory card

Hey there ccmm1009, if you look on the side of the memory card, you should see a small brightly colored little tab. It should also have a small arrow with "lock" written next to it. Simply move it to the unlock position, and you are good to go. If this does not solve it, please respond with your exact model name and #, and I will attempt to help you further. Good Luck!
