Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55XS955 55" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Hi there I have a Sony KF-42WE610. The T.V stand by light it on but the T.V won't turn on. The LAMP light it flashing RED. Does this mean the lamp needs replacing? I removed the lamp and inspected it, I can not tell if the lamp is burnt out, there are no indications that the lamp is no good. Is there some way to test the lamp before I spend 200 dollars on a non-refundable lamp? Thanks -Mike i was watching on the tv after 10 minutes the tv went off & the standby lite keeps blinking after 30 seccame back on.

Yes the lamp light means change the lamp. If you have not changed one in this tv yet it is overdue.

Sony LCD Model KF-60WE610 lamp was replaced and then it shortly after stopped turning on. Blinks Green 6 times then Red 6 times Please help!

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.

I have a sony KF-42WE610. When I go to power it

More than likely it is the G1 board or Thermal Fuse. I replace the thermal fuse and it is still giving me the 6 blinking red lights. Thermal fuse is $40 and cheapest G1 board I have found on-line is $120. I am about to pull the trigger on the G1 board and give it a shot.

Sony tv kf-42we610 tv will not come on and red light blinks three times

Three flashes usually means the lamp cover is not attached securely and the TV has gone into a "stand by" mode, recheck that the lamp, lamp door, and front panel is securely attached.

Good Luck !

Sony kf-60we610 stand by blinks 5 times

Hey there,
I've had my Sony KF-50WE610 for approx. 4years now and have just experienced the prob you described (though I didn't think to count the number of red blinks). I called Sony TV technical support (888-772-7669, #3 for TV/digital cameras, #1 for TV, then #1 again I think). They said that if the power/standby light blinks 5x, that means there's something wrong with the lamp driver and service will be required. Needless to say, I better go home and count my red blinks! Good luck, I hope this helps a bit. Have a happy and safe holiday!

Replace Lamp Flashing

Clean the cooling fans, specifically the lamp cooling fan located inside the rear cover, above the optical blocker. This is easily blocked with dust and causes overheating of lamps/shortened life.
